“I recently took my girlfriend to Murray’s restaurant for her birthday as she’s a big fan of fine dining…we were not disappointed. From start to finish, ALL staff, although very young, were confident, welcoming, professional, polite, and knowledgeable of what was on offer. The food was amazing, presentation was excellent, service exemplary and standards high. I would highly recommend to anyone.”

“The prawn and chorizo special was really good. The service was friendly and helpful and the owner remembered us from last year. There were four of us and three of us enjoyed our pancakes, the other one enjoyed a sausage dish. This time two of us had waffles for dessert. All I can say is, really nice but maybe next time I'll see if someone wants to share.”

“Martini/The Cottage is a very cozy spot for some Italian food. We’d long been meaning to go in and decided to book in for a table of 6 last night. I like the old building a lot. Low ceilings, nice and warm inside, old architecture meets modern decor. Our food was great. I thought the garlic mushrooms with pancetta and cheese were incredible. Very filling and full of flavour. The veal I had for the main course didn’t disappoint either. Some of the most amazing mashed potatoes I’ve had and some very flavourful meat. I’m very impressed. The prices were very good as well. I expected the final bill to be much more. Lastly, they serve a very good pint of birra moretti in here. We hope to return soon!”

“The Spanish tapas here are absolutely delicious! The cheesecake was so good it completely destroyed my “keep fit” plan—I couldn’t stop myself from devouring it. Every single dish was full of flavor and brought me right back to my time in Spain. The only downside? The basement vibe isn’t the coziest and the chairs weren’t very comfortable. Also, the server accidentally tried to charge us twice—but honestly, the food was so good I almost didn’t care! Plus, the staff are actually Spanish, which made the experience feel even more authentic. Strongly recommend! Just… next time, pretty please let me sit at one of the nice ground floor tables. “Always loved it here, been going for years! The ‘good’s under 600 calories meals’ part of the menu is so good if you are on a training plan or want a healthier option. The portion sizes are amazing and the deserts are top tier! Staff are lovely, couldn’t fault it at all”

Food was fabulous and even for myself being a celiac non gluten eater they were very helpful, helping me choose items of the menu and checking on things with the chef. Bought bread rolls out for our other party members quickly followed by a non gluten bread roll for myself. Portion. Size of food is big and delicious. Not cheap but worth it.”

“This is a very small and cozy family restaurant, where we had a great dinner. There is a good selection of dishes at very reasonable prices and it is delicious. Very tasty! Here you can taste real Romanian dishes, very well-cooked meat. There is also a very friendly staff and fast service, we came to the restaurant hungry, asked to bring food quickly and received it in a few minutes.”

“We enjoyed a wonderful 6 course winter tasting menu. Each course was delicious and presented beautifully. In particular, the scallop, venison and rhubarb croissant dessert courses stood out. The latter was unlike anything I have had before and was both spectacular and surprising! In addition to the food, Paris House is very uniquely situated in a deer park, which adds to the ambience. It was wonderful to come up the entrance drive and see the deer in the park. I would highly recommend the restaurant, it's perfect for a special occasion!”

“Went to Cibo on Newnham Street many times before and always had amazing service and subs so was a bit sad when it closed. Went to the new location a few weeks ago and although the vibe is different the subs are still incredible. The food was delicious, massive portions and always the best quality ingredients are used. The staff are always smiley and friendly so will be going back again.”

The menu is traditional but diverse for a Sunday Cavery but enhanced in terms of quality and portions. The price is a little higher than your average cavery but as mentioned, the quality of items and the diverse amount of products that it comes with (seasonal veg, cauliflower cheese, goose fat roast potatoes, red cabbage and the finest yorkshire pudding i've had in some time) make a special meal. Highly recommend as we will certainly be back again.”
