“Amazing food. Nice little bread entrees. Starters were lovely. Nice pate, mozzarella triangles. The ribs were insane. The lasagna was too hot to eat so took it home and was lovely. Chicken liver and calzone all amazing. Price for 5 drinks(one bottle of wine) 5 starters and mains 175. Can't wait to go back!”

“Went last night 4 of us, its in a wierd place in the middle of the park, but a hidden gem! Everything all 4 of us ate was beautiful and just so tasty! Service great too. Its a great family owned business that we should support especially when delivering excellent food and great service! Just a note to those not in the know you can take your own alcohol in as they dont serve it.”

“Booked last minute for a birthday celebration. Was offered both a la carte and Sunday early diners menu, which was good value and had a wide choice. We had 3 courses, coffees, plus drinks and prices were very reasonable and portions large and tasty. Service was excellent, warm and friendly. Would definitely recommend.”

“Was hoping to leave a restaurant review but it seems to have defaulted to the accommodation (which we didn't use!) The food was freshly made and highly enjoyable. Not a fancy restaurant, but like going to a friends house who enjoys cooking!”

“We dined on a thu evening at The Rise for my parents wedding anniversary. We were greated by a card from the restaurant to my parents which was a lovely touch. For starters we had the cheese souffle. This was delicious however it said with walnuts but we didn't see any. For mains two of us had the lamb shanks, my husband had the fish and chips and my mum had the fish pie. Portion sizes were on the smaller side but more than adequate for us, the fish pie was larger and mum said every mouthful was packed with seafood. All were absolutely beautiful. Delicious well done chef! We only had two desserts, the pavlova and the chocolate mouse. Both were very tasty and each with its own twist on things. Food is on the more expensive side, but you pay for what you get and it's definitely worth it. Drinks are very expensive, nothing special but absolutely OK. Service fabulous the staff never stop working hard to ensure you are well cared for, very attentive. We were served by Jack mainly but all staff were fabulous. We have had two afternoon teas here which were also delicious and wonderful. The whole hotel was beautifully decorated for Christmas. We will definitely be coming back and highly recommend.”

“Had a lovely meal from the lunch menu. Chose Chicken Skewers to start, Fish and Chips and ended with Sticky Toffee Pudding. All food was very tasty, well presented and enjoyed! Forgot to photograph pudding but it was lush. Service very good and surroundings in restaurant pleasant.”

“Wonderful little restaurant in city centre. Easily accommodated for our large group of people. Food was prepared to our liking and served rather quickly, even though we were 14+ guests. Lasagna was delicious and appetisers utilised proper Italian meat and cheese. Pasta was also good. Kind staff was a good bonus.”

“The atmosphere was calm, cool and welcoming. The welcome we received from all staff was everything, I absolutely loved it. The food was great, you can eat as much as you want for less. I particularly loved the rice, chicken and the fish. The dessert was complimentary for us and unfortunately I don’t know the name but I tell you the best was saved for the last because I loved it (you can check my pictures for the dessert). You have to pay extra for your drinks. It was a really lovely time there and I’d definitely be visiting again. I recommend! You may book for a group as large as 10, we all had a lovely evening. Food is halal (for Muslims)”

“We loved having lunch at The Botanist! We really enjoyed the meat and the dessert, but one dish stood out — the cauliflower! It was incredibly delicious! We didn’t try it this time, but we saw that there’s an option to pay a fixed fee and get unlimited drink refills — it seems like a great choice to enjoy with friends. The service was excellent, and we would definitely go back!”

“Such a wonderful family business that serves really delicious food with great service. I had a fantastic meal. The samosa chaat was perfect, the mum's special curry was exactly what I was after - some authentic home style food, and the Fal was brilliantly spicy and tasty too. “Held a surprise birthday for my Girlfriend and her family here and I have to say the atmosphere, music, food and drink was exceptional. Great place if you need an exquisite ambience and a good food. I recommend the sea food pasta always.Its also very affordable, paid £190 total for food, drinks and wine for all 9 guests that celebrated with us”

“Very nice staff. Gorgeous food every time I've been. Very cheap for the quality of food you get. Think it's great to sit in the restaurant. Bit chilly usually, till the food comes. Staff are very accommodating as to adding extra chilli or making it milder. I don't find the currys that hot.”

“We get regular takeaways from here especially now they do later deliveries. Highly recommend, food is really tasty and they aee very accommodating with adjustments to orders. Best local takeaway around and very reasonably priced.”

“Fuuuuullllllup. Well that was a great bit of food. Deepfried gherkins, u filthy animal.. sooooo good. Try em. Biltong.. nom nom nom. Meatballs. Oh yes.. give me more. Mains. Ostrich like fillet steak but lighter. try it.. its not chicken. Monkey gland sauce... sweet and chutney like. Miele with the chackalaka sauce, different and good. Try something different for a change. Its nice and bloody filling, roll me home and pop me. Great staff. Good food. What more can you ask for...”

“Went here on a Saturday evening for a birthday meal. We were given a very friendly greeting as soon as we walked in and out first drinks arrived promptly. There are some unusual and very tasty dishes on the menu and we all tried something new. Thank you to our server Emma who was able to answer all our questions about the food. Would love to visit again next time we are in Harrogate.”

“Well what a hidden gem this is. I visited with 3 friends, one of which has an onion allergy. I gave a couple of weeks notice of this and I was advised that they need at least a weeks notice to cater for an allergy/ sensitivity. However what a good experience we all had. Even the onion allergy person as they were advised of two items on the menu that they couldn't have but everything else was doable. Excellent! The food was homecooked and wholesome and portions are very generous. The service was impeccable with the waitress being friendly and knowledgeable. Overall a great and homely restaurant that I'm sure all four of us will be visiting again (now they know where it is)”

“If you have not been down to this Pub yet then you need to. The owners are fantastic along with the staff. They make you feel really welcome. The food is awesome and the kids portion fills me up. They now have a pool table. Sundays are great as you can go down and have a lovely Sunday dinner and then relax and watch the free singing entertainment. Great choice of beers as well and if you just fancy something light, they do the best pizza in town, all made fresh.”

“We attended yesterday after the owner kindly reserved a table of 6 at short notice on a busy Sunday afternoon. Boothwood Inn is a very warm/welcoming place and very nice decor inside. The staff were very friendly and always happy to assist with anything, the owner takes time to speak with most people and is a very nice genuine guy. I ordered the roast beef dinner and I would honestly say this was one of the best dinners I have had (I told the owner I like fatty/well done beef) and when my dinner was brought out he also brought out a side plate of well done beef for me. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. 10/10 for everything.”
