“Really nice little casual fine dining restaurant. Cosy place, good attentive service and excellent food. The gravadlax starter was very refreshing and the chicken vol au vent tasty. The The roast dinners were good and my pork chop with tempura corn was outstanding very well cooked. Desserts were tasty as well, a good example of Tiramisu and great cherry bakewell. Enjoyed the experience, would like to try the tasting menu next time, not cheap but worth it for high quality food.”

“Great to find a good range of Belgian beers, including several zero alcohol beers. Sadly, there was no bar food available when we were there. Very friendly staff. Live music in the courtyard made for a great atmosphere.”

“An absolutely beautiful 7 course meal. We couldn’t fault anything. 5 stars ⭐️ isn’t enough for this fantastic place. My only one regret is, all the staff signed a birthday card for Lucy, and she forgot to pick it up. She was gutted on our way home.”

“Food was not 5 star, though for me and my family it was exactly what the doctor ordered: generous portions, good tasting fare and, ....the price was very reasonable. Most of all, the chef and his daughter were so friendly, that we had a good natter with them were he explained some of the acts and singers performing there at times. Overall, a very pleasant experience. Btw, a bottle of wine was included within the total price of £48.- feeding 4 of us! Thank You, Chef”

“We chose here due to staying at the Alton Towers Hotel, and was worried after some of the reviews, but we honestly had the most delicious food, and our waitress, Amy, was very welcoming and attentive. Our children enjoyed their meals, which is great, as they can be fussy. Highly recommend the lemon and herb chicken - so tasty and so much chicken! My husband had the burger and he really enjoyed it (he mentioned the apple-smoked cheese and said they'd done well with the flavour). Lovely decor in there, and views of the lake (and colourful lights on the lake when dark).”

“Had my 30th birthday here. Perfect place for a small intimate celebration. The place was decorated beautifully, setting the scene and mood. The team were very friendly and to top it off, the cooking was just delicious. The owner is also the chef. She is so friendly. There is plenty of parking and a lovely venue. I would recommend it 100%.”

“We’re new to the area and have been enjoying the occasional breakfast here for a few weeks now. It’s a quirky, unassuming village cafe run in a friendly, polite and efficient manner. The food is awesome: hearty, tasty and cooked with care. Great value for money, too, which is the cherry on top. We’ll continue to enjoy our brekkies at The Corner House (followed by a long stroll around the Mere!) and recommend others do, too.”

Food was beautiful. 100% recommend the mushroom and tarragon aranchini ball, personally the duck confit was beautiful although slightly salty and the Belly pork main... what can we say ABSOLUTELY STUNNING. “Lovely little restaurant, good was insanely delicious, everything came out fresh and hot. Food came out very fast left like no more than 15mins. Child's pizza was lovely my child ate the whole thing. And said the icecream was nice. Staff (blonde lady on entrance) super friendly and very helpful. “We came across this pub after a day an Alton Towers, when we arrived we was greeted with lovely staff and atmosphere. Ordered some drinks and decided to stay for food. Ordered steak which was cooked to perfection. And a pork schnitzel which was full of flavour. Everything came out piping hot. Ordered 2 sausages for my daughter who doesn’t like peas and chips and they reduced the price for this reason. Lovely wine too. Couldn’t recommend this place anymore. Was our first visit and definitely won’t be our last!”

“I have got to say that I don't do reviews very often but the food from here is fantastic, I have never heard my Husband enthuse so much about Chinese food as he does about the food from here, he is uber fussy!! The food is just fab, even my friends from outlying areas of Northwich & Winsford who have had food from here at our house say that they'd gladly travel to here to get food.”
