“Visited on Easter Sunday for a birthday celebration. Only found out about the place online the day before. How have we not been here before? This is a little gem of a restaurant. Although fairly small, and quiet when we arrived late afternoon, the restaurant had a nice feel from the moment we arrived. Service was excellent all the way through even as it got busier, and all our questions about the menu were answered by the manager who obviously took great pride in the restaurant. The food was excellent as we shared 5 tapas between 2 of us, which was more than enough, although we were tempted by dessert. The selection of wines was good, and the Spanish beers were interesting and varied. Overall an excellent meal, and good value when taking into account drinks as well. We’ll be back.”

“Had the pleasure of enjoying breakfast here for a birthday treat. I've never had a multiple course breakfasts in this sort of format, so that was interesting. The location is adorable, especially if you can get a window seat. Staff were patient and friendly. The food was amazing! Good quality ingredients, tasteful sauces. The crumpet for my eggs benedict initially looked store bought, but it had much better flavour and texture when eating. Mushrooms on toast was so savoury and creamy, but not overly saucy. The brioche used was not overly sweet, so a good balance for various plates. Would happily return, and looking forward to trying a lunch/dinner menu.”

We intend to visit Poland on our next adventure and would have liked to have had some tips and pointers on places to visit and food to try. “Been there a few times now and never been disappointed. Exquisite food that makes your tastebuds dance with joy and saliva glands flow like Niagara Falls. Personally for me it’s the Lamb Shank dish, spicy but amazing. There’s an excellent verity of dishes to choose from which are beautifully presented. The service is always accompanied with a smile. The dining area is well lit, clean with refreshing white tableware, a cabin style seating area is also available. The price is reasonable. We visited on a Thursday at 6pm, come 8pm it was full. I would suggest booking a book a table. I highly recommend without any hesitation.”

“The Boot is half walk to meet my mom, and we’ll 100% be back. Fabulous location just off the A38, and plenty of parking. The food was sublime and a wine list to generously accompany the dishes. A running theme with all my reviews is that I like a nice wine list and the Boot offers exactly that. The food was so fresh and full of flavour, beautifully presented. A real Gastro Pub that welcomes dogs which is important for us as a family of dog owners, who enjoy the finer things. Thank you to the wonderful Heidi who look after us, you made mom’s birthday experience thorough enjoyable. We’ll be back!”

“I've had the seafood linguine, and the lasagne, which were both excellent. I strongly recommend trying the ice cream after seafood - the vanilla and pistachio one. The pistachio ice cream actually tasted like pistachio, which has never actually happened to me before! The lasagne is lovely and rich, perfect with a glass of red, and the tender stem broccoli salad I ordered. The pine nuts with it were also really nice! The service was exceptional from the staff, as usual. Both the food and service are always consistently good!”

“Attended a wine and cheese tasting event at Amalfi White - what a fantastic experience! The lovely Emma hosted us and her knowledge of wines and the process of wine production was so interesting- we also tried (and were converted to) some wines we had never thought of or heard of! “I recently revisited Bistrot Pierre after a long time and decided to try their Soirée Gastronomique evening, a six-course dining experience priced at just £26.95—an incredible value for money. As it was my birthday, I had signed up for Club Bistrot Pierre, which gifted me a free bottle of wine. We opted for the red, and it was a lovely addition to the meal. On top of that, the app offered a free bread side, which was absolutely delicious—fresh, hot, and paired with amazing butter that melted perfectly. The six courses were well-paced and thoughtfully curated. My favourite dish was the Camembert cheese with bread—rich, gooey, and indulgent. The full menu for the evening included: 1. Vegetable tortellini – A light yet flavourful start. 2. Baked Camembert – Absolute perfection with the bread. 3. Cod with potatoes – Cooked beautifully, simple yet satisfying. 4. Eton Mess-inspired dessert – Sweet, airy, and refreshing. 5. Cheese board – A well-balanced selection of cheeses. 6. Hot drink – A comforting end to a great meal (I didn’t take a photo of the tea) For the quality and variety of food, £26.95 per person felt like an absolute bargain. The service could have been faster, but it was super busy! The overall experience was fantastic, from the welcoming atmosphere to the thoughtfully crafted menu. I’d highly recommend this evening for anyone looking to enjoy a tasting-style dining experience at a great price. Looking forward to visiting again!”

“I recently had the pleasure of dining at Afrikana restaurant, and I must say it was an exceptional experience worthy of a five-star review. The highlight of my visit was the THIC Chick buttermilk chicken burger, which was nothing short of spectacular. The flavours were excellently balanced and the presentation was outstanding, making the dish a delight not only to taste but also to behold. Accompanying the burger, I opted for the plain chips, which were cooked to perfection. However, I also had the chance to sample the Afrikana chips from my wife's plate and was impressed by their delightful seasoning. I wholeheartedly recommend opting for these seasoned chips as they add a wonderful flavour dimension to the meal. The atmosphere at Afrikana was vibrant and inviting, with Afro music providing a smooth and energetic backdrop to the dining experience. “I don;t often do reviews but this was such a good find. Needed a central point with parking for the girls meet up - always hard to find somewhere central to us all. The cocktails and waffles were amazing! There was a huge choice and all cooked fresh to order (they smelt out of this world). All accompanied with a couple of cocktails. I'm probably going to try Sunday lunch here next time - it's one of those places that I think will become a favourite for loads of occasions!”

Been here many times over the last few years and really enjoy walking round the marina where this restaurant is located as well. Nice to have places like this within a short drive.”
