“As outsiders to Derby we came here after reading such great reviews online. This place did not disappoint! The food was delicious, the staff helpful and accommodating and there were lots of veggie options. My jalfrezi was nice and spicy, just a shame i couldn’t finish it or take it back to our hotel. Thanks!”
“Visited for the first time this week. It is clearly a favourite with many as diners were very familiar with the owners. The food was amazing. We each had the Thalia and it was delicious and great to try a range of dishes. We will definitely be back.”
“What an amazing hidden gem of a restaurant! We ordered the three-course set menu, and every dish was delicious. The best naan bread i've ever had too! The atmosphere was nice and welcoming, and the service was excellent from start to finish. Highly recommended!”
“Had an incredible meal tonight. The service was fantastic, the staff very friendly and the food superb. Have been multiple times and every time they've put on a fantastic meal every time! Would thoroughly recommend!”
“Another great visit to Nicco's, when you don't think it could ever get better it does. A great welcome and service by Ethan he really made the food experience amazing, being the first two people to try the new bottomless brunch menu. The quality of the food was immense and we can't wait for our next visit.”
“Very accommodating and lovely staff. Provided us with complimentary dishes, cups of coffee and even bagged us some food to go. Had a very lovely conversation with them, and when mentioned it was my brothers birthday, they even brought out a cake. Food was absolutely delicious and filling. Will definitely be going again. Thank you for your lovely service.”
“Ordered a madras and in other places it can be made less than madras hot which im tired of explaining I can handle the spice. The Rivaj got it spot on and did not dilute the spice as requested but also kept the beautiful flavours coming through. Perfect balance.”
“Great food. Always tasty. Love the onion rice.”
“Lovely atmosphere for get together. Food was really nice huge portions and well worth the price. Service was pretty good and very friendly. Definitely be returning.”
“Had a team dinner we were approximately 20 people, made a reservation and got there and everything was set up very nicely! The food was delicious really felt like the chefs were able to bring out the authentic flavours of Nepal. Great hospitality, efficient service - bit slow maybe due to the large orders but nonetheless a very pleasant experience.”
“Another great meal from the barn, advised 45 minutes for delivery but arrived in 15, piping hot. Excellent service. Had the meal deal for £20, excellent value for money”
“Wow! Absolutely wonderful meal, great little find in Burton, licensed as well. Wife had the Bengal Chicken with mushroom rice. I went vegetarian with the Channa Palak (Chick pea and spinach), with 2 chappattis. Both were mouthwatering and large portions. Wine was perfectly chilled to boot. Will be coming again and added advantage of having parking at the rear of the restaurant. Behind the Magnet showroom. Seemab is a journeyman waiter, attentive, without disrupting the flow of eating and makes good suggestions for alternatives. Will definitely be back!”
“I've lived near Crich for 4 years and have only just got round to eating here. My brother and I arrived early and were worried we'd be the only ones eating there. How wrong we were! Within about half an hour, every table was taken. It's clearly a family business, and everyone at front of house is really lovely and friendly. The real winner here though, is the food. Presentation is absolutely top notch, the portions are generous (we brought some home in a doggy bag!) and the flavours are exquisite. I don't know who the chef is, but they clearly care about food and their art. We REALLY enjoyed our visit here, and will definitely be back. I feel quite lucky that such a great restaurant is located in this sleepy little village - and the rest of the locals clearly feel the same.”
“We use Love Curry at least twice in a month & have done for the past 5 years. But this weekend they were exceptional!! We asked them to cater for over 30 people, sent them a pre order & asked a time for it all to be delivered. It was all correct & piping hot. We all enjoyed our curries & Pizza's. Keep up the good work Love Curry & thank you for helping our engagement party go brilliantly well.”
“Good food, quick service times and very friendly staff. Amazing setting, especially in the evening/night”
“Will get South Indian food, food is good. Parking is available for 4 to 5 cars but when we arrived, there is no parking, so parked at Abbey street paid parking (£2.5 for 2 hours). Service was also good. Overall rating is GOOD.”
“Both the food and service were fantastic! We had the buffet option which is not like a standard buffet. You can order as many dishes from a set menu as you'd like and they are all cooked fresh for only 17£. This is our top pick for Cantonese food in the city.”
“Very nice dinner, food and service! We thought of celebrating our anniversary and were searching for a restaurant somewhere nearby to Mickleover in Derby and find this gem of a place! Amazing place. Very good Indian good and really attentive service focused on the customers. Very economical pricing and quality is also good. Comparable to famous restaurants in Derby like Anoki etc.”
“We’ve visited twice in the last few weeks and absolutely love this place. It’s nicely decorated and has a nice atmosphere going on. The food we order always comes piping hot and presented exactly how you feel it should be presented. Very tasty too with tender chicken pieces and flavoursome sauce. Had the lamb on the bone last time and that was an experience and a half! After speaking to one of the waiting team about the poppadom dips, we found out that they are all made freshly on site and not just from a bottle. Definitely going to go back soon”
“This is the best Indian restaurant we have found, it really is worth travelling to. We have been three times so far and it has been consistently good, the main dishes are great then finishing off with amazing desserts and a pot of coffee with a jug of cream after the desserts which is how it should be but so many others aren't. To top it off it is reasonably priced and the setting which is underground really has a wow factor.”
“Best Indian in Loughborough, if not Leicestershire. We had butter chicken, naan, rice, saagwala and Dansak and they were delicious. The chicken was so tender it fell apart in your mouth. You could taste the difference between the curries which is oddly rare as many seem to use such heavy spices that all flavour is overtaken by them. Great portions and at such a good price too. The man who dealt with us was friendly too.”
“We met friends here and by chance booked. We arrived to be pleasantly surprised at how stylist the interior was and how friendly the welcome. The food was excellent but was not expensive. We will certainly meet here again. I can't recommend Indian Spice highly enough.”
“The Haleem was amazing along with fresh paratha and chai. A very pleasant experience was had at Chai Hut, the staff were all really friendly too.”
“The food from Sharma’s is always lovely, the Samosas and pakoras are very tasty, I think they are most likely the best in Derby. I have been visiting the shop for many years and have always found the owners Indy and his brother to be very pleasant with nothing being too much trouble. I would highly recommend a visit to Sharma’s.”
“Just the place I wanted. Good price, good service and very good food. Even though it was busy they have us a top notch service.”
“Me and my partner visited here tonight. I must say this is by far the best Indian food I've ever had to date. Very tasty, and the portion size was very good. Staff we're very friendly and the atmosphere and decor are very nice. I would highly recommend a visit”
“Great buffet experience with a wide variety of Chinese, Indian, and continental dishes along with live stations. Everything was fresh and tasty, and the options were well presented. The only thing I really missed was crispy fried prawns, which would have made it perfect, hence one star less. Otherwise, highly recommended!”
“Came to Anokis from Bradford after spending the day in Derby. Nearly missed it on the A38 so first impression of the location wasn't impressing but that soon changed with the astounding exterior deco (see pics) and ample parking. Service - Loved what the waiters were wearing as part of their uniform. They were extremely polite and talkative yet very busy. Always someone watching the tables should a table need some service. Toilets - very clean and fresh & accessible. Food - Expensive especially for a small plate of starters but nonetheless the food was delicious. The mains were a better size for the price and tasty. Anokis do a deal every Wednesday and a member discount which you may need to be mindful to checkout. Atmosphere - great atmosphere. Great deco and lighting, lively and impressive space & quality seating. I would definetly recommend a visit to Anoki.”
“Really great food at great prices. Staff are really friendly. Easy parking round the back or a nearby free car park.”
“Lovely clean place to eat. Fast friendly service.”
