“We've ordered the Set Meal 2 and got it delivered in 60min. That was okay, and the meal was very satisfying and delicious! I can recommend Rangoli to everyone who likes Indian food!”
“Out of the fever dream that was the Book of Mormon at HMT we were thrust into the fire of Aberdeen past 10 pm on a Thursday. A Rare sight? The locals stumbling past Drummonds were not. Belmont Chipper, the famed Belmont St Kebabs? The usual offering of late night eateries was not cutting the mustard. “food” - the google maps search of the desperate. Five Guys? Chopstix? Monsoona? What could this possibly be? A short walk away and we entered what could only be described as an oasis to the inhospitable desert of Union Street. A Desi paradise of popadoms and paneer. We had a tasty veggie selection, the staff were friendly and accommodating and the music had us screwing in notional lightbulbs, 10/10.”
“Small cosy restaurant with lovely staff who explained a lot about the background of some of the food. Food was fantastic and we even got a surprise pudding on the house. Keenly priced too and definitely go back.”
“Came here during restaurant week and it was so good, we had to come back again soon after. Good value for the portion sizes and the flavours transports you straight to south india. My go to restaurant if I need to scratch my dosa itch.”
“Such good food and the prices are one of the lowest in Aberdeen. Beatiful and massive portions. Plenty of chicken/lamb in the dishes and a £3.5 starter could easily be a main course. We're regulars, highly recommend.”
“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We booked Carron to Mumbai in Stonehaven on the day for a large family group of 12, including grandparents and a 6-month-old baby, after a funeral. From start to finish, the team couldn’t have been more accommodating. Drinks were topped up promptly, and the service was attentive without ever feeling overbearing. The menu offered all the well-loved classics alongside some really interesting dishes I hadn’t seen before. We shared pakoras, bhajis, poppadoms, dips, and sizzling meats to start, and I had the Karahi Chicken for my main—absolutely delicious. Everyone at the table thoroughly enjoyed their meal. The food was excellent, the staff were warm and welcoming, and the whole experience felt effortless despite us being a big group. Couldn’t recommend more highly!”
“Difficult to fault. We came here on a personal recommendation, and I'm struggling to find a reason for going to another Indian restaurant nearby. A wide selection of standard and non standard dishes was a good start, as was listing the starters as vegetarian, and non-vegetarian! We all had mains only, and remarked on the presentation, quality and freshness of the food. Friendly service and good value”
“We travel to Potterton on a regular basis to get the amazing food from the Shish Inn. Full of amazing flavours and always freshly made and as a family we all enjoy the choices on the menu.”
“Absolutely delicious as always. Generous portions. I had the leftovers for breakfast because I couldn’t wait til lunch to finish it. It was the first thing on my mind when I woke up! I had chicken chat and chicken sagwala. My fave dishes. Arrived right on time, big thanks to my fave delivery driver Georgia”
“I’m from India and came to Aberdeen for office work. After trying several restaurants around the city, I can say that 8848 Restaurant is the best so far! Their Veg Thali and other dishes are absolutely delicious — full of authentic flavors and great variety. I also tried Travancore, but honestly, all the dishes there tasted very similar, which was a bit disappointing. If you're in Aberdeen and craving Indian food, I highly recommend 8848 for a satisfying and tasty experience!”
“We managed to get a table in the corner as we didn’t have booking. The service was very good. Onion bhaji was tasty although not crispy. The naans were pretty big. The bhendi masala and veg navarathan sabji were delicious. The murgh balti was just enough spice to my liking. Warm towel and orange quarters were a good touch at the end.”
“First time in the restaurant, nice decor and warm environment. Sizzling vip starter mix grill is fantastic. Bangladeshi chicken and prawn is delicious Highly recommended this place”
“Delicious food, lovely service , wide selection of food to order and very tasty, great value for money. Service is fantastic, staff all so nice , knowledgeable and kind.”
“Favourite take-away. Always high quality food, and service. Prince creates a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere! Best chicken take away in Aberdeen”
“Absolutely incredible! Wild Ginger is hands down one of the best Indian restaurants in Aberdeen. The food is utterly delicious, every single dish I’ve tried has been full of flavour and beautifully presented. The Chilli Broccoli is honestly one of the best appetisers I’ve ever had (and that’s coming from a meat eater!). The venue itself is spotless, the décor is elegant and inviting, and the staff are genuinely lovely. The owner and manager truly go above and beyond for their customers, making every visit a memorable one. It’s a real shining gem in Aberdeen for anyone who loves authentic Indian cuisine. Big shoutout to their Mango Lassis and Peshwari Naan too , they’re absolutely perfect. And don't get me started on their incredible butter chicken curry... wow! Couldn’t recommend Wild Ginger enough!”
“still the best curry house in Aberdoom, for those who appreciate Desi Flavours...and despite being Glasgow based, I have been to them all.”
“What a new way to start!!! Ocean Spice we loved your food, delicious!!! My Son loved the Biriyani and Rogan Josh was mouth watering . Yummmmy! thank you guys!!”
“I would recommend this place based on several parameters: 1. Fish curry 2. Chicken and Lamb Place is clean and service is awesome”
“Loved the food. Had a madras! Asked for a 7 out 10 spice level. YuuuuuummmY. Atmosphere lovely because it was delivered to my door. Curry Mount Kings!!!!!!!!! Can’t add the pics because I ate it all.”
“Ordered a large order on a Sunday night. Although a little late. Food was hot, food was lovely. Extras added in. Would recommend and get from there again.”
“Hand on heart the best Indian takeaway I have ever had. I can't comment on the atmosphere, but the delivery driver was chatty and friendly. 10 out of 10 , highly recommended I had tikka masala, cheese and onion nan bread, garlic rice, poppadoms and paneer and spinich. All absolutely delightful”
“Super delicious food, shawrma was great and big enough to satisfy your tummy, burger is well spiced for kids. I definitely recommend this restaurant. Halal food available.”
“Lovely place to eat, great food and atmosphere, and friendly and attentive staff. We last ate here over 40 years ago, thrilled to find it's still in business!”
“Ordered myself a friday night treat. The staff are always very pleasant to deal with and the food was hot, well portioned and tasty!”
“Went for an early dinner here. Lovely modern decor yet with a hint of nostalgia. Only had a main course as not huge eaters, but what we had was fabulous and good quality. Service was good and everything was clean. Will definitely go again.”
“Neither of us had been to India before, but we were well taken care of, and learned and saw so much! In addition, I would particularly like to mention how very good Tilak was. We relied on him completely, he managed everything exceptionally well, and nothing was too much trouble. It cannot be easy dealing with a group of senior travellers (especially on the train!) but he made it all very easy for us. He was efficient, professional, resourceful, and kind. We could not have asked for more.”
“Booked last minute during The Tall ships, restaurant empty but this was fine for us. Service, attention and food absolutely outstanding. Would thoroughly recommend thus Indian restaurant!!”
“I ordered pizza and biryani, both were absolutely delicious! The biryani was full of flavour with perfectly cooked rice and tender meat, while the pizza had a great crust and tasty toppings. Highly recommended! for as Asian people.”
“Authentic Indian flavors with perfectly spiced tandoori dishes , soft, buttery naan and rice. A must-try spot for anyone craving bold, smoky delights.”
“Great food, had a tikka masala and a tikka wrap. Both were tasty and portions were a great size. I will return again, give it a try you won't be dissapointed”
