“I stayed in Derby for 4 days for work and I only wish I’d discovered this place at the beginning of the stay. I’m on a bit of a low carb kick and all I could find in Derby was pizza or fast food. The food here was absolutely delicious and fresh, the Greek salad was perfect with a large chunk of feta on top, the skewers were cooked to perfection. The chap who served me was friendly and very helpful and the restaurant itself was lovely, I opted for takeaway as I was in a rush but I’d definitely sit in there on any future trips”

“Ordered steak , it was so amazing cooked and taste very nice! The portion was very good, couldn't even finish all chips ! There is no place in derby with same taste of steak. Highly recommended. Interior inside amazing, really love it. Friendly staff. Definitely come back to try something more from Greek cuisine!”

“A friend and I arrived without booking and the staff were very accommodating, we had to depart by 7.30, but arriving at 6.15 gave us plenty of time. I had king prawn and chorizo penne which was really good. Followed by cheese cake accompanied by a glass of fizz. Really good food and very good service.”

“Visited on Easter Sunday for a birthday celebration. Only found out about the place online the day before. How have we not been here before? This is a little gem of a restaurant. Although fairly small, and quiet when we arrived late afternoon, the restaurant had a nice feel from the moment we arrived. Service was excellent all the way through even as it got busier, and all our questions about the menu were answered by the manager who obviously took great pride in the restaurant. The food was excellent as we shared 5 tapas between 2 of us, which was more than enough, although we were tempted by dessert. The selection of wines was good, and the Spanish beers were interesting and varied. Overall an excellent meal, and good value when taking into account drinks as well. We’ll be back.”

“Good, polite service and delicious food. Tablecloths on the tables were clean as was everything else. The salmon starter was quite a small portion, but the mains were big portions to balance it out. The veg that came with the Sunday lunches was all delicious. Would highly recommend the restaurant.”

“Had the pleasure of enjoying breakfast here for a birthday treat. I've never had a multiple course breakfasts in this sort of format, so that was interesting. The location is adorable, especially if you can get a window seat. Staff were patient and friendly. The food was amazing! Good quality ingredients, tasteful sauces. The crumpet for my eggs benedict initially looked store bought, but it had much better flavour and texture when eating. Mushrooms on toast was so savoury and creamy, but not overly saucy. The brioche used was not overly sweet, so a good balance for various plates. Would happily return, and looking forward to trying a lunch/dinner menu.”

“Step towards this restaurant and be transported instantly to a wonderful Greek experience. From the groups sat outside conversing to the warm family atmosphere inside. The service from Sofia and Elvis was excellent, food was lovely and reminiscent of dining in a family home in Greece. Thank you for a nice dining experience, right in the heart of Derby city, tucked away in St Peter's Churchyard... Will definitely be returning!”

“From just looking at the menu the food seems really basic and overpriced and I do find it difficult to justify spending £9.95 on lunch (with the small portion option) but while the ingredients are simple the portion you get for small is filling and as they say the ingredients truly are fresh and delicious. My favourites were the daal and hot potatoes. The main protein I had, chicken breast, seemed bland at first glance but actually tasted very good. Unfortunately I forgot to take additional pictures below the top layer. I think I'd only get this for lunch on special occasions but I think I would get the better value medium for dinner more often, I can't imagine finishing a medium bowl in one sitting. 2: I finally found an excuse to go again and it was really good. I had the salmon this time, which cost £2.50 extra ! It was quite good, a touch fishy. I had the daal, chicken curry, beef rice thingy. It was all quite filling and good.”

“Been there 3 times now and can say everytime I have gone the food has been amazing! I have been with company too. We've tried the pizza, burgers, hot honey chicken, beef stroganoff and all of it has tasted so good. The chef's are so talented. For the cost and for what it is, it's just presented perfectly to me. “So came here in April 25 for a casual dinner to celebrate my wife’s birthday. 4 year old daughter was in tow. The spring menu was Italian themed. I have to say that this is a proper gastro pub. The food is excellent. Really high quality and very very tasty. Portion size is good so you won’t leave hungry. Expresso martinis are delicious as was the wine. As it was my wife’s birthday they brought out a brownie and a candle and some ice cream for my daughter just so she wouldn’t feel left out. Luckily this is in vicinity and is out go to place when we want some decent food and a nice night out. We’ll be back.”

“We hired The Little Kitchen for our works Christmas night out, and Donna and her team never fail to impress. They are so friendly, welcoming, and genuinely can’t do enough for you. We had the turkey Christmas dinner, which was absolutely delicious — a proper home-cooked meal with plenty of veg options. The red cabbage was especially amazing! There were two dessert choices, and I went for the chocolate one, which was so nice. They even let us bring along our own silly team games, which was perfect for our very competitive group. This was our second year returning, and we honestly wouldn’t find anywhere better for quality food and such a warm, friendly atmosphere. Thank you once again”

“As a group of 39 people we were all seated in the outdoor pods for sunday lunch on 11th November. The atmosphere was welcoming and the staff were polite and friendly. Once seated, it was a matter of minutes before our drinks orders were taken and we got told our pre ordered food wouldn't be long. Considering the size of our group and the pub itself was extremely busy, it was impressive how quickly we all got served. The staff were amazing, nothing asked was too much for them! The food was spectacular! With mainly roast dinners being ordered, no one said a bad word about anything. The meat just fell apart and the portions were generous. I would definitely recommend The Bluebell to anyone visiting the area, although I think booking would be the best option as extremely busy!”

“I stayed in Derby for a week and tried a few different places for breakfast. I found the book cafe to be the best. Excellent quality food. Particularly enjoyed the scrambled eggs which were light and flurry. Every item on the plate was of good quality. The location of the cafe is very central and the quirky ambience adds to the experience. Only slightly marked down service as there was no table service, only order at the bar was available but that said the staff were nice and friendly. I’d gladly return to the book cafe in the future and recommend to others”

“Myself and a friend enjoyed an Afternoon Tea for Two with Prosecco on a Saturday afternoon. The sandwiches and home made scone and cakes were just delicious, with huge portions! They were happy to provide vegetarian sandwiches for me. Helen was our host and nothing was too much trouble. Lovely service and atmosphere, thank you!”
