“Hands down my favourite restaurant! The space is beautiful and it’s a very relaxed environment. They couldn’t be more considerate of dietary requirements and the staff couldn’t be lovelier. “Not surprised they got Restaurant of the Year! Being a Greek from down south and staying up in Hull for the weekend. Wanted to see what Greek food was on offer. Wow, The Greek didn't disappoint. We had the sharing platter, halloumi fries and the Calamari. All the meats were cooked and seasoned to perfection. The staff where lovely and the restaurant well well-presented. If you're in Hull and you love good food check it out!”

“I prebooked for the special Fiesta menu for 11 people on a Wednesday evening at 6pm. Although we had to choose the dishes in advance (understandable to avoid 11 people ordering individual tapas), the communication was very good and the process worked well, including the pre-ordering of drinks at a reduced rate. Although there was a warning that 'no-shows' would be penalised with a £10 per head surcharge, we did not get charged for the one person who could not come, despite only giving 24 hours notice. This was much appreciated, although it may have been different if more people had cancelled, or they were only informed on the night. There was a vegetarian in our party and Ambiente were very accommodating, providing an extra portion of veggie paella and extra tapas dishes, including an excellent plant based 'meatball'. They were very impressed and not made to feel like second class citizens. The food was excellent from beginning to end, starting with the meat platter (separate veggie platter), through the chicken and chorizo paella (separate veggie paella), tapas and dessert course. The dessert 'tapas' were wonderful, with a great choice of tasty sweets. The only way that it could have been improved would have been to have a mini cheese selection or fresh fruit, for those with less of a sweet tooth, but I consider that to be a suggestion for improvement rather than a criticism. The service from Morgan / Morten and his team was exemplary from the moment that we arrived to when we left, making this a great evening. I have previously only been here as a couple or a small group, but I thoroughly recommend Ambiente for a Christmas night out.”

“Absolute must eat here! Fantastic food and drink! The food was great and very authentic. The staff spent time with us to talk, recommend foods and even the owner came out to give us wine recommendations, to which we ended up loving and buying the bottle! Such an authentic Italian with a great family atmosphere great for all occasions. We will be back, I cannot wait to try the pizzas next, the pasta dishes we ordered were perfect, cooked to PERFECTION! Cannot wait to be back!”

“I have eaten here over 20 times and never had a bad meal. I walk away feeling healthier than when I arrived. The Greek salads are so fresh vibrant in both colour and taste. The staff are very welcoming. Like coming back to family. The place is spotless with a 5 star food hygiene rating.”

“Reserved a table and was seated immediately upon arrival. The restaurant was inviting with a modern style to it. The staff were friendly and very helpful, but a little slow at times. We were seated in the outside glasses area but I felt somewhat uncomfortable the whole time I was there as the tables were so close, we could hear everyone else's conversations, so felt unable to talk private ourselves. The food arrived very fast and was hot and fairly tasty. Overall, a nice experience, but was room for some improvements. Aside from that, an enjoyable experience.”

“Last Friday my husband and I went to George Michael’s and we had a lovely Kleftico meal - the atmosphere was fine - but unfortunately after leaving the restaurant my husband misplaced his footing on the moon shaped steps - l could see he was going to fall and l reached out to save him and we BOTH tumbled down and hit the pavement ! My point is that there were NO rails outside to hold onto - had there been this would never have happened! I broke my glasses which will have to be replaced- banged my forehead on the concrete - and generally we both were very shaken up - two very kind passers by helped me get up ( for which l give them many thanks - names not known) l am nearly 82 - husband 86 ! I think a rail maybe beneficial and may avoid this happening again……but it was a very nice meal ….”

“I love this place. The atmosphere is so chilled. The staff are first class and the owner is the cheeriest chap you will come across west of the River Hull. Easy to sit and chill with a few drinks in the sun trap garden at the back but you have to try the food, that is what will make you go back.”

“Wow the pork gyros was full of flavour especially the meat. My friend had a box and the portion sizes were amazing. So glad we picked here to eat whilst on our visit to Hull. Only thing that dropped marks on atmosphere no fault of greko but he market hall itself. is that it closes at 3 which we found quite early. It would have been nicer if the market hall cleaner staff waited until 3 to remove the eating table and pack away as we felt pressure to eat up fast and move tables.it was like a game of packman as tables dissapeared all around us.”

“Seem to be becoming a regular at this place much to the detriment of my waist size. If you want fresh, tasty and large portions , here is the place to come. Every last Friday of the month is street food night and just had the Mexican fish tacos and pork tacos with loaded tater tots. As always did not disappoint and accommodated my order at the last minute. The sandwiches and burgers are always delicious and there is always some cracking music playing whilst waiting for your order.”

“We called on Sunday on the off chance we could get some food between rugby games at the local RUFC. Greek food on a Sunday was a welcome surprise for a family who don't do the traditional carvery. Service was very friendly and helpful, the food was delicious and the atmosphere from the other people made it a lovely pub to be in. They also have the best Halloween decorations I've ever seen in a pub! If we are ever over that way again, we will definitely pop in!”

We had a beautiful meal, and it’s conveniently close to the car park. The food was fresh and full of flavour, and the service was friendly and welcoming. Definitely worth a visit!☺️”
