“We spent a long weekend in nearby Alton and stumbled across this restaurant, and what a treat! Not only a lovely change from the usual pub grub so commonly found locally, but it was super tasty. We live in London and are picky about our curries, but this place definitely ticked the box. Even our little ones really enjoyed the korma. Just be warned about those portion sizes! Great service too. Chaps who work there were very welcoming and attentive. Would recommend.”

And finally, an establishment which knows how to treat customers, they presented the bill WITHOUT adding a gratuity automatically! Well done, shows respect. “The food was excellent - some of the best Chinese food I've had recently. I particularly liked the kai sung (it reminded me of the san choy bow you find in Chinese restaurants in Australia). The sizzling beef was served on a sizzling hot platter with a tasty pepper sauce. The wonton soup had luscious and juicy prawn wontons with a generous serve of wontons. We decided to go a la carte, but the range of set menus is impressive and well priced too. It was lovely to see the restaurant team welcoming people and checking in with people at key stages of the meal. It had a really nice family feel and vibe! Luckily we booked our table the night before dining as the restaurant filled up very quickly after we arrived. We were visiting family in the area, so we don't live close by - but we've said we would gladly return on future visits. It is great to support local business and not just dine in the same restaurant chains.”

“Have been going to Peony for years! I honestly can say my family and I will always be very grateful to have such authentic restaurant at our door step. yes it has been taken over by new owner and food is somewhat a little different but it is still delicious and better than a lot of restaurants in Hong Kong. I also noticed they have replaced table cloths and chopsticks the place is a lot cleaner! Owner is friendly and evidently put a lot of effort in her work place. I am grateful for Peony and I am glad I don't have to travel an hour to have delicious dim sum! Keep up with the good work! Recent visit: the crab meat dumpling (red one in the pic) omg! Must try!”

“10/10 Brilliant time at the arch last night So accommodating for a big group, absolutely delicious food with the added bonus of a lazy susan which entertained 10 full grown adults far more than it should have. Service couldn’t have been better ❤️ Highly recommend”

“Booked a table for 3 for lunch on Friday. Tim greeted us and made us feel so welcome. Nothing was too much trouble from start to finish. He even took photos for us. The food was delicious and the service was great as always. It's such a lovely place to go and eat and then finish with a walk around the shop or the garden centre or both. Just love Jackson's Nursery.”

“Turned up with no booking. The staff promptly found us a table and served us drinks whilst we looked at the menu. We both had chicken roast dinner which was absolutely delicious. One of the best places I've visited for a roast all homemade and very substantial. Worth a visit if your passing through Nantwich”

“Ordered a takeaway for collection for first time as we had friends round. Come to collect and was greeted by a lovely woman jacqui who looked after us. All the staff were very pleasant and went above and beyond. Food was amazing, best Chinese I’ve had and friends said the same. Would highly recommend to everyone who loves a Chinese!!”

“Food was nice. But i ve had better ramens. The ingredients were very nice, but the soup in it could be better, and the noodles also, were too moist for my preference. But the beef noodles were very tasty and the cherry lemonade ......omG, the best drink i had in years! So nice. The service was also very good. Thank you!”

“Really enjoyed having a little stop at this cafe for a drink. In the centre of town just off the main area it’s big enough for maybe 25 people with various tables inside and out. Toilets on site and it’s wheelchair accessible too. They allowed our dog in as he was well behaved. Lovely service and very friendly. We had a couple of cream teas with great clotted cream and home made scones - it was a great time thanks”
