Right next to the Roman Baths, The Pump Room is one of those places you kind of have to visit when you’re in Bath. It’s very much tied to the city’s history and the whole Jane Austen era, so it feels quite special just being there. The atmosphere is beautiful, a grand hall with live piano music when we visited, which made it feel really elegant and relaxed at the same time. The staff were lovely, very friendly and quick to help with any questions or requests. We had the Jane Austen Afternoon Tea and, taste wise, it was a bit underwhelming as I’ve definitely had better afternoon teas elsewhere. That said, the tea selection was great, lots of interesting teas I hadn’t tried before, and we also had a glass of their sparkling wine which was really good. Overall, I’d still say it’s well worth stopping by for a drink or something light. Even if the food isn’t the main highlight, the atmosphere alone makes it a must visit when you’re in Bath.

I came here for afternoon tea while on holiday in town with my disability group. The food and drink was amazing, the staff were very kind and helpful, and the service was absolutely brilliant. I would definitely come here again and would recommend this place to others.

Absolutely gold star service. Everyone from James who greeted us to Chloe who saw us to our table and checked in and Mimi who was our waitress fantastic! The food was lovely- and the gluten free scones to die for- thank you to the chefs - they were light, fluffy and no fruit in sight! The musicians were incredible. Extra special as Chloe and Mimi listened to us and understood today would be my late dad’s birthday. They went out their way to mark the occasion! Do not hesitate to book- fantastic not to mention the beautiful setting!

Lovely Afternoon Tea Experience in the Heart of Bath We visited this location for Afternoon Tea and had a really beautiful experience. We arrived around 2:30 PM and were lucky to catch a live piano concert, which added an elegant touch to the atmosphere. The standard Afternoon Tea menu was around Β£100 for two people, which felt fair considering the amount of food included. There is plenty to eat β€” definitely more sweet than savoury β€” but everything was fresh and nicely presented. The service was very kind and attentive, and the interior is absolutely charming. One of the highlights is the back rooms, where the walls display the history of the place and its connection to the Roman Baths. It’s actually linked to the Pump Room, and if you choose to visit the Pump Room and then the Roman Baths afterwards, you can skip the main queue, which is a great bonus. Overall, if you’re visiting Bath and want a traditional Afternoon Tea in a beautiful and historic setting, I definitely recommend this place.

Pricey but impossible to fault. We had the afternoon tea, with a glass of English sparkling wine, and a wide variety of hot drinks, which came to Β£124 for two. The savouries were delicious, the scones were super fresh, and the patisserie cakes were delicate and luxurious. The space is beautiful, the staff delightful, and having live classical music as well, made it feel very special.

We had booked for four people an afternoon Tea, it was just such a beautiful surrounding and the music from the live orchestra was wonderful. The staff were excellent this place is well worth a visit. The food was excellent and would 100% go back. It is a very busy place and you do need to book in advance as it was full, every table was taken per each sitting. I am pretty sure the sittings are every 2 hours.

We had a lovely Birthday breakfast here. It was during the Jane Austen Festival. I highly recommend reservations. The line for people without reservations was very long. We both had the Egg's Benedict. I had Cappuccino and my husband had tea. It was good but nothing special. The service was excellent and of course, the ambience is really the reason to go. We enjoyed the live piano playing and the dressed up festival goers!

Situated along side the famous Roman Baths, The Pump Room is definitely recommended for afternoon tea in a beautiful setting. It is extremely popular so book well in advance. Its advisable to arrive 15 minutes before your time slot as a cue forms from that time when busy. The selection of food both savoury and sweet was delicious and service excellent. To further enhance the experience we were treated to live music from a trio playing piano, violin and cello. Be aware that a service charge is added to your final bill.

Grate time here. The staff very friendly and helpful. Food was fantastic and the coffee and tea was amazing. Also to have a live music from a grand piano really added to the atmosphere. Definitely worth the money. Left feeling like royalty and full bellys.
