“Portions are very generous, food very tasty! I shared some beautiful pierogi (potato, cheese and onion) to start and potato pancakes for my main. I had to take some away as I couldn’t finish it!”
“I had a wonderful experience at GDK! The food was amazing - everything was delicious and well-prepared. The rice bowl doner is my absolute go-to - I order it every time and it never disappoints! I also love the gym box, which is perfect for a satisfying and healthy meal. I was especially impressed by Zohra’s service. She was attentive, friendly, and made the whole dining experience even better with her personal touch. It’s clear she takes pride in what she does. Highly recommend this restaurant - will definitely be back!”
“Everything was great! Very good food, clean place and friendly staff. We will definitely come back.and hamza gave good service”
“Always an incredible experience! Went again last night for what's now an annual Christmas visit. Superb vegan food and a super cosy pub! Can't wait to come again.”
“This place is great! Passed it at lunchtime on the way back from the Barry recycling centre. Friendly staff, good menu, good value, clean and most importantly, very tasty food! Even little things like having bamboo cups instead of plastic was a nice touch.”
“Always eat here when I’m back in the area to see family. Been going here since I was a very young. Changed hands a few times. These owners are exceptional and are exceptionally good at running the pub. Honest food at reasonable prices. Without a doubt one of best pubs serving food . Always busy. Friendly service. Dogs welcome. Hard to beat.”
“Recently refurbished, excellent service and freshly cooked food served from the kitchen - hence the extra wait that we're not normally accustomed to. But it's well worth it because everything is prepared by the chef, and the triple cooked chips are a real delight.”
“Had a lovely dinner at Daffodil. Their vegan steak was a first for me - surpringly small, but much tastier than expected, with a fairly realistic meaty texture! Chips were perfectly crispy, service was fantastic, and honestly it was just a pleasure to spend an hour eating great food here after a busy day at work.”
“I absolutely love this place! Every time I visit, the food is consistently delicious and packed with authentic Thai flavor. At this point, I’ve probably tried nearly everything on the menu, and it’s all been fantastic. The dishes are always fresh, flavorful, and true to traditional Thai cooking. Not only is the food outstanding, but the prices are also very reasonable, which makes it even better. I happily drive 40 minutes each way just to eat here at least once a month it’s that good! If you’re looking for genuine Thai cuisine that never disappoints, this is the spot.”
“A long way out of town but fairly close to the Cardiff City stadium. And it was worth it. Lovely friendly pub. Loads of real ales. I found some Bombardier again!! It was empty when I walked in but packed an hour later with not enough staff!! Why on earth don't they pay extra staff, organise themselves and get a bumper Boxing day pay out !! After all January won't be busy. It really isn't rocket science. We gave up queuing in the end and went to the Stadium. They really are missing a trick with 3k away fans....considering it is such a lovely unique place...”
“The best fish and chips around, with lovely friendly staff.”
“I had my first Donner Kebab from here and it was fab and well worth the money. The service was also great especially from Naser who was bright , cheerful and very helpful. I will be ordering from them from now on. A GREAT BRIDGEND GEM.”
“This is the only place I go for breakfast!! The best sausages beans and eggs this side of Cardiff. Portion sizes are always generous and the cappuccino is better than the leading chains. If you're looking for good quality food, nice homely atmosphere and fantastic service, this is the place to make you smile.”
“Great seating for a kebab place. Food is well priced and very good sometimes the chicken options can be somewhat dry. Employees are always friendly.”
“I recently visited The Codfather in Abergavenny and had a delightful experience. The service was lovely, with friendly and attentive staff who made us feel very welcome. The fish and chips were incredibly tasty, with fantastic portions that left us more than satisfied. We chose to sit outside, which was a great decision as we could enjoy the pleasant weather while dining. One of the highlights was ogling the selection of cheesecakes on display – they all looked absolutely delicious! Overall, it was a wonderful visit, and I highly recommend The Codfather for anyone looking for a great meal in Abergavenny.”
“Burgers are amazing, the brisket is really tender and falls apart beautifully. Prices aren't bad considering its such good quality. Service was very friendly and quick. Would definitely recommend this place!”
“I’ve been hearing about this place for a while and finally visited for the first time today. It did not disappoint! The staff are so lovely and welcoming. They were very accommodating. There was a great selection of dishes. The food was prepared in good time and served well. The portion sizes were perfect. Everything tasted absolutely delicious! I’ll definitely be going back and would 100% recommend!”
“We came here the other day to check out the food that was on offer. The staff was friendly, the service was quick, and the food was delicious. We'll be sure to return here soon :)”
“Gotta give these guys a review cos I've been ordering from here for a couple of years and had, mostly, great experiences. Firstly, they do by far the best kebab shop pizza I've ever had. To classify it as a kebab shop pizza is probably unfair but I doubt they roll their own dough like Dominoes or Papa J's. But when you can get a 12" from here for about a tenner, and it's delicious and hot, £20+ for one from Dominoes, who will probably get your order wrong, doesn't seem worth it. Their chicken kebabs are really tasty, especially the shish. Lamb kebab is lamb kebab. You know what you're getting. I would absolutely recommend their spicy wings. Had a house party once and ordered a load of these and they went down a treat. Added to this they always read my notes on JustEat (I always ask for pickled peppers, more lettuce etc) and never get it wrong and food always arrives fast and hot. If I had to give some constructive criticism I would say they're often too generous with sauce on the kebab and not generous enough with the salad. I also had the southern fried chicken once a few years ago and it tasted like it was cooked in old fat. Tbf, the only bad food I've had and nobody is perfect. Hands down my fave kebab place and I hope they don't close any time soon.”
