Fantastic early supper here before a theatre visit. Tried the Leek and parmesan risotto with Monkfish and it was delicious! Also sticky toffee pudding for dessert was light but heavenly. The venue was a little cold but it was early evening and it did get busier and warmer as the evening progressed. Definitely one to re-visit.
Booked here for dinner with a friend. We both really enjoyed our meals, quiet, friendly atmosphere. They have at least one vegan option for all course / menus. I had the stuffed butternut squash, it was very good and the sorbet dessert which was also really good! Would return.
Had a lovely dinner at Daffodil. Their vegan steak was a first for me - surpringly small, but much tastier than expected, with a fairly realistic meaty texture! Chips were perfectly crispy, service was fantastic, and honestly it was just a pleasure to spend an hour eating great food here after a busy day at work.
My girlfriend and I came to Daffodil for Sunday lunch on my birthday and we were blown away! Friendly, fast service and absolutely delicious food & drinks! We had three beautiful, fresh & locally sourced courses and it was such a birthday treat. My girlfriend, who is vegetarian, was particularly impressed by their mushroom & sage wellington which was delicious and clearly not a second thought like some veggie wellingtons she has had in the past. I loved the fresh king scallops starter and the succulent leg of lamb roast! An absolute must visit if you are in Cardiff, we will definitely be returning!

We had a great memory in this bar, if there were an option for 6 stars of the service I would definitely press that. I feel the tip is truly worthy and the price of the food is pretty fare if you are looking for a fine dining!
Nice dinner at the Daffodil! The place is really cosy and well decorated. Food was quite nice, a bit on the pricier side but really enjoyable. Perfect service. Highly recommend the mackerel rillettes and sticky toffee pudding.
Such lovely staff. Our reservation (for the latest table they do) hadn't gone through, we were 15 minutes late - over running theatre- and they apologised to me that they might need to rush through the orders. They were then all chilled about choosing wines, didn't rush us at all, then custom adapted a dish for my food intolerance(gluten AND dairy free). Food was absolutely amazing. Really nice ambience. Awesome place!
What an epic find!!! Probably THE best steak ever, absolutely spot on. Bit pricey but worth every penny for a special treat. Scallops to start, gorgeous, followed by rib steak, best ever, with pistachio brownie to end (humongous serving!). The pork was amazing as was the Eton mess and the cheeseboard. Lovely atmosphere, not rushed, attentive service (they even gave us Christmas crackers as it was our Christmas shopping day!) Perfect end to the day, can't thank the staff enough from the servers to the chef, first class!

I went to Daffodil for coffee and lunch today and I have to say that it was very pleasant. The food was really tasty, not just your average sandwich; the local and fresh products made a real difference! I particularly liked the vegetables crisps, it was a nice touch. The staff was really friendly and the place is decorated with a lot of taste! There is also free wifi, which is a plus - I was able to grab my laptop and work from there in the morning. I definitely recommend it and look forward to coming back!
