“The food is excellent and comes out piping hot. Service with a smile from the friendly bar staff and the owner, David, greats you with a smile and a hand shake and is always very welcoming. They have events on and I don't know another place locally that serves this type of food. Would highly recommend”

“Very good Liverpool pub about 10 minutes walk from Lime Street Station. 5 cask beers on handpump when I visited including a stout. A few tables outside. The pub has an interesting history as Kirkland's Bakery and its name comes from their slogan 'no flies in the loaf'.”

Update: 27/7/25 Better food than in 2023 but the portions are so small… 2023 Today I try order the first time in the app for collection, but there was some system error so I can't pay by credit card. I went to GDK and explained all the situations but Manager Kris was not interested in helping me at all. Definitely I’m not back here again.”

Whatever your pleasure, the sides, the burgers, the sauces. Even the comms on delivery time. Can't fault it. Russ you smash more than just your burgers. Can't recommend highly enough.”

“Had a lovely time here during our short stay in Chester. There is a great selection of craft ales on tap and in bottles/cans. Plenty of seating on two levels and there is a live beer board. The Lady behind the bar was very friendly and knowledgeable about the types of drinks available. Highly recommend this venue and would visit again !”

“Had dinner here a couple nights ago on 13/08/25, was served by Dorrie who was absolutely wonderful. I wanted to try some local beer that was on tap so I asked for her recommendations, she told us they have some beer on rotations that are not on the menu and brought us a small glass to try. The food was great as well, we had the Scotch eggs and pork knuckles which we couldn't even finish. Overall great service and great food.”

“Excellent Sunday lunch and vey good value in today's financial climate (2 dinners for £22). All was presented in a large Yorkshire pud with plenty of meat, veg and gravy. Staff are very plesent and helpful although we had wine there is a large selection of craft beer.”

“We booked ahead for Miller & Carter at the Albert Dock (definitely recommended as it was busy) and went as a party of three. From the moment we arrived we were welcomed and greeted really warmly, which set the tone straight away. Despite how busy it was, the service was excellent – attentive without being pushy. Our food order was taken promptly after we were seated, giving us time to settle in without feeling rushed. We all ordered steaks, and each one was cooked exactly as requested – absolutely spot on. The quality was great, and it’s clear the kitchen takes real care. Having visited several Miller & Carter restaurants before, I can honestly say this is one of the better ones. Definitely worth a visit if you’re spending time around the Albert Docks area.”

“Ordered Donner Kebab for the missus she loves them said bread is dead fresh doesn't break, salad is fresh and also asked not to cook donner meat on grill and was spot on with that. I had boneless chicken wings with smokey barbecue sauce absolutely lovely. Delivery was in about 10-15 mins and food was still hot. Can't complain at all. Have visited the shop for takeaway a few times and staff are down to earth and polite. Best scran gaff in bootle by far.”

Been several times over a two year period and every visit, either if it's just for a drink or a meal, like today, it's great. The staff are always welcoming you and pendant to take your order at the right time. Complimentary water without asking for it. It's atmosphere is cozy and modern. Facilities are clean, as well as their toilets. The prices are in line with average.”

We were impressed with the German food on offer. I had the pork schnitzel with chips, which was cooked to perfection - crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. My partner opted for the foot-long currywurst, and it was equally impressive. The portions are very generous, and the food quality is outstanding.
