“I recently visited German Doner Kebab and ordered the beef rice bowl. The experience was excellent, largely thanks to Rashmi. She was very friendly, professional, and welcoming from the moment I ordered. She helped ensure everything went smoothly, and my order was prepared quickly and accurately. The beef rice bowl was delicious, fresh, and well-prepared, which made the visit even better. Rashmi’s positive attitude and great customer service truly enhanced my experience. She is a real asset to the GDK team.”
“We had a wonderful day shopping then popped into here, was met by the bubbly and happy phoebe, we were served lovely food very quickly, the service was wonderful everyone in the team seemed happy and so lovely. But phoebe took the time to make us laugh and made sure we enjoyed everything! Its a lovely place will visit again another time as the team and place looks so clean and the food was delicious!”
“A beautiful picturesque place to go for a meal or just a general drink. Professional service, ample parking etc... Its the place to go after lockdown!! Make an effort to drive down Mansfield road as this place is a must see. All customers are respectful hence no drunkenness to contend with. Also they cater for weddings which I would expect provides same level of service.”
“Great choice of drinks, blue light /Forces discount Great atmosphere. Clean throughout.”
“Visited for the brunch and was not disappointed! As the menu was only small we tried everything (except the oysters as they were unavailable) and enjoyed it all. Restaurant is lovely and light on a sunny day too.”
“Really pleasant little cafe, caters for recent vegetarians (such as myself!), had a full breakfast and hardly noticed there was no meat. Friendly staff, nice decor, reasonable prices.”
“This was a wonderful find and I have been back on a number of occasions. The food is amazing and the staff and atmosphere is brilliant. The sad note to this is that it is closing soon and we will be missing yet another excellent pub due to lack of custom. I’ll be very sad to see the end of yet another amazing establishment.”
“Had the most wonderful time with a group of 11 of us celebrating a wedding and a birthday! The food was absolutely delicious, and every care was taken with any allergies and food requirements. The staff were so unbelievably adorable and helpful, and didn’t mind putting up with us all! We are a loud bunch :D Thank you for an amazing time and amazing memories made!”
“Well this really is a very special pub to visit. Its an absolute gem of a pub carved into the sand stone of Nottingham Castle. Its possibly the oldest pub in England but wasbis for sure is the warm welcome from the staff who are very friendly and knowledgeable of the ales and beers on offer. Lots of great seating inside and out and super fine ales. The beer choice really is very good. I look forward to coming back again soon.”
“A must if you like a crafty one! Not cheap but they have a fantastic selection of different types and styles of beer. All wrapped up in a chilled out atmosphere!”
“This is such a great place! The drinks are top-notch, the food is well-priced and exactly what you want on a cosy, fun evening out. The atmosphere is always lively and welcoming, and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Best spot in Beeston!”
“One of the best set menu fine dining experiences in Nottingham. It was clear on every course the detail put into the flavours and presentation. The taste was also incredible on every course and very much worth the cost. I also went away feeling decent level of full and the course pacing allowed a good amount of time to make it's a great experience. Staff were also great and attentive to dietary needs. Overall a super experience worth trying.”
“Love this pub. Me & my grandaughter had light bites but it was so filling. Sat in the bar area there’s also a dining area. First visit but hopefully I’ll visit again soon”
“First time having a pint in the frame breakers. What can I say...... It's a quaint little pub in towards the centre of Ruddington, so it nicely located. The staff seem friendly, and they serve a nice array of craft ales and beers. Prices ain't bad and from what I saw of the food, it looked good. Definitely worth a cheeky beer in.”
“Had a fantastic meal at Hickory’s Smokehouse in Nottingham last Saturday night with friends! The food was genuinely impressive — hands down the best BBQ I’ve had from anywhere in the UK. The meats were cooked perfectly, full of flavour, and had that authentic smoky taste that’s so hard to find done right over here unless I'm doing it on my BBQ at home!! The staff were brilliant too — super friendly, attentive, and brought a fun, relaxed vibe to the whole experience. It really made the visit even more enjoyable. Definitely planning to return soon. If you’re into BBQ and haven’t been yet, you’re missing out!!”
“Popped in on a Tues at 2.30pm. Luckily they serve food whilst loads of other food places in Nottingham were closed. Ordered lamb kofte and burger and chips. Food was served quickly and was delicious. Decor and atmosphere upstairs is very well decorated with posters, large screen tv and plants. I would recommend popping in.”
“We recently chose to have our wedding reception at The Canalhouse in Nottingham, and it was the best decision we could have made. Amy, the Events Manager, and her amazing team went above and beyond to make our day truly unforgettable. From our very first meeting, Amy was warm, welcoming, and incredibly organised. She put us at ease straight away and made sure every detail was thought through. Nothing was ever too much trouble for her…she even met with our DJs ahead of time to coordinate the evening plans and timings! We brought in our own decorations and shared our vision for the day, and Amy and her team quite literally brought our dream to life. Walking into the room as husband and wife and seeing it all come together for the first time was magical. The food was exceptional…it arrived on time, tasted amazing, and catered perfectly for guests with allergies and special requests. We received so many compliments on how efficient, friendly, and attentive the staff were throughout the day. Honestly, our wedding wouldn’t have been as perfect without Amy. She and her team absolutely smashed it out of the park. We can’t thank them enough for the care, effort, and attention to detail they put into everything. If you’re thinking of hosting a celebration at The Canalhouse then DO IT!! You’ll be in the best hands. Amy, we appreciate you so much. Thank you again for making our day so special. ❤️ Amy & Mitch 18.10.25”
“Great music. The cocktails and service was the best on my trip to Lincoln. So good, I went again the night after. Price of the drinks was very good too! Also for a bit of fun, there are telephones dotted around the venue which you can call and talk to random people!”
“Really lovely place. Best described as Italian style tapas, with medium sized dishes perfect for sharing. They change the menu ever day apparently. Highly recommended.”
“Stopped here today on our motorbikes while greenlaning. Great coffee but the homemade sausage roll was the star of the show. Unbelievable. Probably the best sausage roll I’ve ever eaten. Well worth a stop here. Cake was also lovely”
“Stayed one night, in Grantham for a funeral. Staff were excellent, had a meal in the evening which was very nice. Lovely spacious room with loads of storage, ironing board and iron, good hairdryer.big bath towels. I left something behind and Mel the receptionist rang me and it was soon sorted. If we are ever up in Grantham again no hesitation in staying at the the Angel and Royal.”
“Absolutely LOVEEEE this place and the new menu is banging!! You can go vegan, veggie or meaty on any of their burger choices. Although making that choice isn’t easy, they all sound unreal. I’ve been a fan of Annie’s for years and getting to meet her properly last night was so much fun, she’s so lovely. I’ve never ever been disappointed when visiting here, and the new burgers are sooooooooo bloody good . Highly recommend getting the Texas bbq rib and the poutine fries!!”
“lovely, friendly good service. Have the pork belly, it took a while but the waitress told us it would - it's a slow cook dish. Worth the wait for sure. The two mains and a bottle of wine deal on Tuesdays and Fridays is a bargain. Clean pub, lovely outside area, nicer than it looks from the front.”
“Excellent customer service, friendly staff. The desserts were delicious. Just right ✅️ I went in with family and really enjoyed everything about scoops.”
“It's been a long time since this place was the Old Vic. First time we'd been here as we don't tend to visit this part of town too often. Very nice place indeed ! Pleasant staff, lovely, clean surroundings and a nice atmosphere. We only popped in for a 'swift half' to see what it was like - ended up staying a couple of hours and having fab pizzas there too! 2 for 1 pizzas at that (both have to be the same). Good selection of beers, ales and ciders(try the Berliner Pilsner!) and great food, I could have had 1 of everything! We'll be back, thanks guys!”
“I generally order Meat doner box which is always great. Ordered Peri peri full chicken for the first time, I must say it was tasty and fresh. The price for the whole chicken was excellent.”
“I recently enjoyed an outstanding dinner where every detail impressed me. The dishes were flavorful and beautifully presented, creating a memorable experience. Our server, Stacey, elevated the evening with her warm personality, impeccable timing, and thoughtful recommendations. This restaurant truly delivers exceptional service and delicious food in every single visit.”
“This was my 1st visit here in a party of 11 (9 adults & 2 kids ) for a family lunch .The meals had already been chosen as requested at the time of the booking, which was around 4 weeks earlier, maybe due to it being on Mother's Day ? It's located next to a golf course & does have plenty of parking spaces in front of the building. There are a good number of tables outside which are undercover. Once inside ,the bar & restaurant areas are very spacious with a rustic style decor. The staff on duty were very pleasant at the bar & during table service. All the meals & including those who had room left for deserts ,looked to be very nice indeed & everyone enjoyed their food, i had the roast beef burrito which I would recommend. Probably, only disappointment being the meals actually came out the kitchen in dribs n drabs, so timings weren't the best to say the place wasn't that busy .Still , I enjoyed the visit & would recommend it it to family & friends. Cash or card payments are accepted.”
