“As soon as you walk in you are greeted with a smile which goes a long way . The service was excellent , the food was lovely and you will have to take your own booze if you want a drink . They bring you out some turkish bread with olives and some dips and at the beginning of the meal and turkish tea at the end . We really were looked after well and will go again .”

“Just had an unplanned visit here after breaking down on the main road outside. Pleasantly surprised by this lovely little pub. Great selection of food and drinks (alcoholic and non). Lovely friendly bar staff. Prices seem reasonable. Decent (although a little on the small side) toilets with deodorant/hairspray etc in-very nice touch, especially on such a warm day! “Been to this restaurant for many years. Our friends are regulars who live in Huddersfield so we automatically look forward to eating here. Food is always fresh, delicious and tasty. The staff are polite and very friendly. 'Beer is always cold' and makes the evening as a lot of Indian restaurants have stopped selling alcohol.”

“When i went in at 2.45pm on a Wednesday afternoon thought why is there only one customer in. It had a atmosphere of a transport café so we nearly walked out. Fortunately the owner (I think) came in and we asked her several questions to which all the answers were favorable. So we ordered and must say the food was above average cooked fresh and exactly how we had requested it for 4 people including drinks it was £21 excellent. We have a dog with us and i left the main party to sit outside with him. I was informed that on my next visit if it was hot to bring him in. What a loverly lady we will certainly go back.”

“Had a lovely meal at the Duke of York. We ordered the fish & chips and scampi & chips — both came in really generous portions and were cooked perfectly. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the staff were all friendly and helpful. There was a bit of a delay with the food due to the chef being unwell, but the team handled it really well — we were even offered free drinks while we waited, which was a lovely gesture. A special mention to Ellie, the manager, who was especially kind and made sure we were looked after.”

“Me and a few friends were working in Huddersfield for a few days and decided to try this place on our lunch. It was way better than any of us had expected. Polite and friendly service, reasonably priced and the food was absolutely amazing. I had chicken wings and chips and I expected it to be average at best, but when it came I was surprised at how delicious it was. We tried to go back the next day but it was closed unfortunately. If I’m ever in the area again I will be returning. Great stuff”

“Amazing little place tucked away. Friendly staff, great seating/lighting and superb food. Dog friendly too. Small offering as it was Sunday but I knew that before I arrived. The Guinness steak pie was incredible, a huge portion and full of flavour, £16 but worth it. Nothing microwaved and great service. I struggled to move after I was so full! I Didn’t have an alcoholic drink but the coffee was excellent. The washroom was also nicely decorated and clean. Highly recommend.”

“I’ve not been to Pizza Express for a long time but needed lunch with my toddler and we popped in on Sunday. Really nice inside, comfy, food good but the staff were fantastic. Seated nicely and then seen by a lady with dark long ish hair, she was so good with my little girl, went out her way and it really made a difference. Will definitely return based on the service. “Outstanding service from start to finish the young lady who was our waitress who looked after us on our visit was exceptional. We called in for my partners birthday and so gladx we did it was game week both of or favourites the venison and lobster surf and turf was a real delight all the food was cooked to perfection. Couldn't fault any part of our visit”

“My first time trying the Bankhouse since it reopened! Beautiful views, really fresh food and lovely drinks + friendly people behind the bar and out n about in the restaurant/beer garden. This is probably one of the best beer gardens in the Pudsey area - the sounds of birds are so enjoyable as you look out onto the valley. For a non alcoholic summer drink I recommend the blackberry spritz - very sweet and refreshing without being too tangy. The club sandwich was DIVINE and the chefs hadn't scrimped on fillings. The meat was trusting and the salad leaves, cucumber and peppers were fresh and crunchy. The chips were the same vibe too! The portion size was nice and filling after a walk. It has always been a perfect location for a post stroll bite to eat but very enjoyable. You can expect to pay around £12.95 for dishes like sandwiches but the other pub classics are a bit more, you're looking at around 17/18 quid :)”
