This pub is back. Good atmosphere, darts competition on when we were there. They now do pizzas to eat in or take away at good prices Thursday to Sunday. Other menu also available and don't always have to book. Staff are lovely. Dogs allowed in bar area and outside tables. Good range of beers including Timmy Taylors.

Had a lovely meal at the Duke of York. We ordered the fish & chips and scampi & chips — both came in really generous portions and were cooked perfectly. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the staff were all friendly and helpful. There was a bit of a delay with the food due to the chef being unwell, but the team handled it really well — we were even offered free drinks while we waited, which was a lovely gesture. A special mention to Ellie, the manager, who was especially kind and made sure we were looked after.

Lovely place for a meal. The seating area is cosy and bright. Dishes were full of flavour and so tasty! Highly recommend the prawns! Luke

Good meal at a country-style pub with last minute availability. Chips were great, sizzler platters were okay with nice prawns and veggies but too much sauce tho.

Food was absolutely divine! The only down side was service was quite slow in between finishing main and being offered dessert and then between finishing dessert and getting the bill. No one really came over to check if everything was ok (which is actually slightly better than being hassled with a mouth full of food but when plates were empty would have been better to have someone there to check if we were finished and offer dessert menu/bill. Other than that would definitely come back again especially for the sea salt and rosemary fries!!
