Had a celebration family meal for 20 of us recently The room and table were well presented though it was a little chilly but not uncomfrtably so. Staff were polite, though seemed a little disorganised when bringing out the food and drinks. Food was very disappointing. Soup was flavourless and just looked bland. The beef was supposed to have been cooked medium, but a defibrillator may have brought it back to life it was that rare. The pork also seemed undercooked and was very fatty. There must have been a shortage of potatoes in the kitchen as we only had two small roasties each and the other veg were also in limited supply. By the time everyone was served, it was cold to eat. The sweets, were fine, but it would have been difficult to mess them up. We have had a number of family meals at Healds Hall in the past which have been 5 out of 5, but this one was really poor. I doubt we will return.

Nice place. But my room was very cold. The hot water takes 10mins to come through for a shower. Staff are brilliant. The food is very nice. Its a same there not a lounge area to sit away from restaurant to enjoy your evening drink or coffee after breakfast.

We recently had our wedding here and can honestly say it was fantastic. Matt was outstanding throughout the planning process he was always there to advise. On the day he was nothing short of amazing also. To be honest all the staff were amazing. Every last one of them. None of them could have done any more for us. The food was absolutely outstanding. The venue decorated amazingly. Everything went off without a hitch and we are so grateful. Many a guest have told me it was one of the best, if not the best wedding they have been to. I cannot recommend Healds Hall enough!

The Mattresses are HORRIBLE. I stayed for 3 days which for 2 of them I didn't sleep more than 2/3 hours for how bad the mattresses were. Initially I stayed in a twin room and then switched to another horrible mattresses in both. Then switched to a double more "premium" room I guess with a double bed but the mattresses were still bad better than the twin room mattresses. Some rooms can be really small. Whats good? Food is pretty good 4/5 and most of the staff are kind and helpful. The hotel from Outside looks pretty good and has a well maintained garden. Overall 1.5 / 5.

Beautiful hotel, friendly staff delivering great service and most of all amazing food! 5 stars! Very well recommended. A bit pricey but you pay for the quality of the food.

Beautiful hotel, elegantly furnished. Good-sized room with plenty of storage space. It was spotlessly clean with excellent provisions, including bottled water and biscuits. The bed was very comfortable. Shower over bath with shower curtain. Decent toilet paper! Our only complaint was that the room was too hot so we turned the radiator off for most of our weekend in February stay. The ceiling fan was useful. Breakfast was delicious, well-presented with a good selection of options. Evening meals were a bit pricey but absolutely delicious. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. We were there for a 90th birthday party which was a complete success. The buffet was excellent and nothing was too much trouble for the waiters and the bar staff. We truly appreciated their care and attention to detail and would highly recommend this venue/hotel for any event/holiday.

Could not fault anything food was excellent, our room was really clean and very comfortable, the young waiter who served us our evening meal was so attentive nothing was too much, the lady that served our lovely breakfast was very pleasant, Jo on reception was a joy and a big thank you to Joe the bar tender who found and returned my purse. Will definitely stay here again when visiting family in Yorkshire. Also excellent value for money, building and grounds beautiful. Lynne & Peter from Kent

Lovely place, friendly staff and nice food. Booked last minute as my partner had a business meeting in the area. Warm welcome on arrival and able to seat us straight away for a meal. Waiting staff very nice and very smiley - always a good sign that it is a nice place to work. Nice to have some live music through dinner as well. Great breakfast following morning too - whatβs not to like! Room although very small and at the top of the house was spotlessly clean, nice decor with tea and coffee making tray too. Unfortunately couldnβt give 5 stars as the room was cold as the radiators in the room and bathroom were warm at the bottom cold at the top - needed to be bled, also fan not working in bathroom. However, not laying blame as staff wouldnβt have known as they donβt spend any length of time in there. Advised on our departure and suspect it has already been sorted as the lady on reception seemed very efficient. Lovely place and would probably stay again if ever that direction again.

Lovely setting, twinkle lights in the trees give it a magical feel when you arrive. Toilets in need of a refurb and the chairs are way too high for the tables however the good is good and the portions are huge. Highly recommend the prawns. Incredible!!! Would return.
