If you want to stay at a historical place to sleep, this is the spot. Was fun sleeping in the four post bed. We spent a long time wondering which historical figure spent time in that same room. Maybe a Templar knight or maybe Henry VIII. Staff were great and helpful. Helped me store my bike in a safe place.

We hosted our wedding reception at the Angel & Royal Hotel, and it was everything we had hoped for and more. Marie in Events was exceptional throughout — so organised, reassuring, and genuinely caring, making sure every detail was perfect. On the day itself, Teresa, the Hotel Manager, went above and beyond to look after us, along with the whole hospitality team who were wonderful from start to finish. Kurtis Wright, the Head Chef, created an incredible menu — from delicious canapés to a three-course dinner that our guests are still raving about. The cocktails at the Angel Bar were fantastic, and the bar team were friendly, professional, and so efficient all evening. The whole day felt wonderfully relaxed and seamless thanks to the team’s professionalism and warmth. We’re so grateful to everyone at the Angel & Royal for helping make our wedding such a special and memorable celebration.

Stayed one night, in Grantham for a funeral. Staff were excellent, had a meal in the evening which was very nice. Lovely spacious room with loads of storage, ironing board and iron, good hairdryer.big bath towels. I left something behind and Mel the receptionist rang me and it was soon sorted. If we are ever up in Grantham again no hesitation in staying at the the Angel and Royal.

We had such a good lunch at the Angel and Royal. We received a really warm welcome and very much enjoyed being in such an attractive and vibrant atmosphere. The food we had was delicious and very reasonably priced, considering its excellent quality. We had a minimal wait for our meals to arrive and there was a plentiful supply of ice cold water. All in all, it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience and we will definitely return in the future.

My Father and myself had Sunday Lunch in The Kings Room, wow what a lovely room steeped in history which kept my father who sadly lives with dementia occupied, the room and atmosphere was very calming and the lunch was beautiful, we had the Roast Beef which melted like butter in your mouth! The rainbow carrots were the tastiest I'd had! The staff went out of their way to help too..THANK YOU..We will be back

Fantastic history, friendly helpful staff, cosy and clean room, outstanding food and service. The best 3 star hotel I’ve come across. To self validate this review and because nothing is perfect, the room was a little bit noisy and only one set of towels, a minor inconvenience I didn’t even mention to the staff.

Room was very nicely decorated, clean and tidy. Facilities were great and staff fantastic. Only criticism would be the food prices, I opted to eat out once seeing them but other than that can't fault the hotel.

The food is absolutely delicious! Lots of variety and definitely worth the price. The service has always been excellent and to a very high standard. They also have Live Music Nights in the King's Rooms! Highly recommended this Hotel and Restaurant, whether you are passing through Grantham or live locally, make sure you visit!
