Refund your Christmas Day customers please. The most dreadful experience ruining a Christmas Day meal, in this day and age food is expensive and to have such a poor experience you really need to reach out to your diners and refund them. We arrived promptly and seated at the table and thatβs the positive experience ends there, we got our drinks and waited and waited and waited three times asking for much longer before starters are served, by this time 45 minutes had gone by. Looking around you then notice other customers commenting requesting updates on food. We then started to hear from the waiting staff βIβm so sorryβ βsorryβ βsorryβ how diabolical and unprofessional the person in charge of front of house and the kitchen could not get themselves together to come around to diners to explain! If you just took a little moment to explain maybe off a glass of wine you diners would have felt a little bit in control, instead of keep asking bring fobbed off. Near on an hour before the food arrived, we ended up buying a packet of crisps as mum is diabetic and hungry. She just wanted her main course so asked could we urgently have this as she needs to eat as she takes insulin for diabetes, it is importantly to keep her levels right. So embarrassing to take an elderly loved one out to such a mess up. Three times asking for her dinner which eventually came but the wait was horrendous no explanation no knowledge of why this was happening. Then we start to hear from other disgruntled diners, deserts had salt sprinkled on them instead of sugar, not one table but several!!, does the kitchen not check, the deserts after first table sent them back, but obviously NOT! Another table, missing food on their plates pigs in blanket (should say pig in blanket as itβs was a single one which was over cooked bullet) no stuffing, no Yorkshire's so much missing on many plates. Condiments not offered. Potatoes dry probably had been left out I presumed. As you can see in the pictures the food was over cooked vegetables microwaved so much the colour was gone from what I believe was peas and Brussels, the parsnips were mush. The Christmas Pudding a thin slice oblong shape interesting most Christmas puddings start off roundβ¦.. the custard turned up cold sent back and oh yes need a spoon, the custards are different colours one bright orange the other pale yellow. Some tables being served before others who had been waiting an hour. Just a shambles. Another table sent their deserts back due to the cream being off! How are you still in business, environmental health need to do a visit. Food coming out cold letβs see who ends up poorly over the next 48 hoursβ¦.. This pub is greedy taking on too many sittings to cope. Just take two sittings and make diners Christmas Day memorable for the right reasons not this memory which was absolutely awful. As I have put you really need to refund your customers as you havenβt fully filled your obligation, asking for menu choices three weeks before and full payment and still end up in this diabolical state with many, many disappointed diners on a very important day. 3 x Β£97 please

We booked a Christmas Day meal at Β£90 per person and the experience was extremely disappointing from start to finish. While the waiting staff themselves were polite, on arrival we were left standing at the entrance with staff visibly looking at us but not acknowledging us or explaining what was happening, which immediately felt unprofessional. The food was nowhere near the standard or value expected for the price. The starter, described as a goatβs cheese tart, arrived with soggy pastry, an overwhelming amount of pickled onions, and a very small amount of goatβs cheese, making it poorly balanced and unpleasant. The main course arrived lukewarm and was shockingly minimal. The pork/beef roast consisted of the meat, a tiny portion of dauphinois potato, and cabbage and peas. There were no roast potatoes, no Yorkshire pudding, no stuffing, and no pigs in blankets, which is completely unacceptable for a Christmas dinner, especially at this price point. Dessert was equally underwhelming β two very small profiteroles, half of a chocolate bomb with sour raspberry filling, and a tiny sliver of dark chocolate tart. Portions were extremely small and lacked any sense of indulgence or celebration. To make matters worse, drinks were charged separately despite the already excessive cost of the meal. This was not advertised as a fine dining or tasting menu, yet the portions and overall experience reflected neither quality nor value. Overall, this did not feel like a Christmas meal in any sense. We left feeling disappointed, unsatisfied, and genuinely shocked by what Β£90 per person bought us. We would not return or recommend this restaurant, particularly for Christmas Day.

Well I was pleasantly surprised by my visit to the dragon fly, abit weirded out to start with as I had not long previously been to the fox den, but instantly felt at home. The food was outstanding, and don't even get me started on the service. I was taken care of by this lovely old man called clarky who had told me it was his first week, you wouldn't have thought it at all, he was fantastic! Thank you dragonfly!

Fantastic meal. Really, really tasty and fresh. A huge improvement on our previous meal approximately 2 years ago. Barry was very warm and welcoming, not only to us but he was fantastic with the more mature customers that came in after us. Jamie gave us his recommendation on meal choice and he was bang on- the skewers were fantastic. The sticky sharing starter was so tasty!! Kim assisted in between and was lovely and friendly. 10/10. Well done team!

Lovely food here tonight with the new menu. We had the sharing platter to start and then pork belly and halloumi skewer for main. We were served by Hannah who was lovely. Thank you.

We had an excellent fine dining in very beautiful and friendly place. We got here almost by case from our trip from the coast to the Midlands and we were really pleased with the food and service. I had the Seared fillets of seabass and my wife the Beef and Chianti Casserole, two well presented and delicious dishes. I surely recommend and I hope I can come back soon.

Very nice pub/restaurant. I would seriously recommend trying the food although please be aware you ideally need to book in advance as the wait times to get a table can be in excess of an hour. I would highly recommend the signature burger it is asolutely delicious.

Food was nice and good, Gammon was lovely, though service was slow but the staff were very friendly. Needed a booking to be able to eat there so make sure you reserve before you go.

Wow! This is such a great restaurant, mainly because of the good food and itβs high quality. But also the decoration and atmosphere makes it very comfortable and perfekt for dinners with friends or an romantic date. Itβs also nice to have just drinks on the bar. The interior and the light makes it a place where you want to stay. The staff is very polite and friendly! The food comes in the perfect timing also if you order a Menue. I definitely want to recommend this special place to others. I went here already several times because I like it so much.
