We used the Merrie Harrier to do a joint surprise birthday party for my partner and my sister. The management team and staff were fantastic. They helped us source a great dj, allowed us to put some decorations up, and they put on a great buffet for us with so many delicious options. They were all absolutely amazing and we all had a fantastic evening to remember.

Visited today with my children and Nan. We had a lovely roast dinner with good vegetarian options. Five clean plates! The food was really good. The place was clean, tidy and welcoming. The staff were very polite and friendly. Plenty of parking. Was easy to book a table on the Facebook page. First visit for us and we will definitely be back!

I was apart of one of the big tables in the Merrie harrier tonight, they had a big private party so space was limited but they were still very accommodating and the food was immaculate. A couple of us were starving so the wonderful landlady put a rush order on the cheesy garlic bread for us so we could snack on something whilst waiting for our mains. Will definitely be coming again. Great food, great staff and an overall welcoming atmosphere

Lovely, friendly service. Very attentive host. Food is very reasonably priced and delicious. I will definitely be returning. I had the light lunch option, and my husband ordered from the main menu.

Cracking little pub and has turned around from previous visits. Staff are very friendly and even allowing changes to meals as I don't like BBQ sauce so swapped to hot sauce for my hunters chicken. Very good value for money and a reasonable pace for food. Look forward to my next visit

Visited today, when ordering food, the barman advised he was barman, waiter & chef as the cook had not shown up. He did say that he had his 15 year old in the kitchen, which was a bit alarming. The only options of food we had was Sunday Roast. We ordered 2 beef and 1 chicken dinner. The portion size was aimed at children, 1 parsnip and a load of soggy veg with cold beef, it took me a while to identify the Yorkshire pudding, it was deflated and tasted like cardboard. The worst part of the meal was the chicken, the only way I could describe the taste, was like eating lead, it smelt gone off and looked like it had been cooked on the radiator. I complained to the manager/barman/chef/waiter, to which he offered a refund for JUST the chicken dinner. I did advise that he shouldnβt be serving that chicken to anyone, but as we sat there, even with my feedback, they still continued to serve the chicken, with the childβs portion of soggy veg, a deflated Yorkshire and 1 parsnip. I wouldnβt recommend to anyone, the barman should have shut the kitchen, not continued to serve food with a 15 year old head chef. I donβt even think if you put that food out for seagulls itβd be eaten. Wonβt be returning.

We have found this little gem as we are visiting family nearby. We drove past and thought to pop in for dinner - we absolutely loved it and I am writing this review after our second meal here in two nights. Great pub, Lovely people, and great food! Thank you! We loved it! I don't think that the locals realise how good this place is.

We went Christmas Day and received all of our courses except 2 of the desserts. I felt so sorry for the landlady as her chef had walked out and 2 staff were sick. However she was in a very stressful situation but dealt with her customers in a respectful manner.

I have had several meals here and all have been absolutely lovely, compliments to the chef. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is very warm and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble for the staff that work there. The pub is very clean and tidy. It's good for all ages, both young and old. Will definitely continue visiting here!!!
