Utterly useless - our seller are currently using these people and it looks like we might have to walk away after no end of time energy and money. Tried to call them myself and you spend 15 mins waiting for someone to answer the phone while the hold music tells you how great they are. Gutted that they have used these solicitors. Might cost us a family home.
Avoid, avoid AVOID. My current buyers are using these, and they’re utterly embarrassing. I have to let me buyers know weekly to chase their solicitor because mine are constantly waiting to hear from them. In the very beginning it took 7 weeks for them to make contact with regards to my sale and their purchase and that was only because I got my buyers to chase. The whole sale is just being delayed due to these. We have been ready to complete since 10th October and yet no completion date and no correspondence with regards to a potential completion date because of these. Their solicitor is currently off for a week and no one covers their work. So it’s another week delayed. When the solicitor returns Monday I can put my life on it they won’t respond to our solicitor until the Friday. There’s no urgency, and sadly my buyer can’t even get hold of them when they try it’s just answerphone service. For example ,The solicitor said they were sending paperwork over to them last Tuesday- They have received it today , 9 days ! where as my solicitor sent paperwork via email within 30 minutes , we printed and signed and sent back within 2 hours, paperwork received by them the following day. 1 day process. The 2 above us in the chain are loosing their minds and we are, because we just can’t believe how god awful these are.
These were our seller's solicitor and they made the process extremely difficult. At one point our solicitor had to chase them for a month to get a response to an email. Our sale was held up as we were waiting for documents the seller had sent to Taylor Rose that they had not sent on. We ended up having to get documents directly from the estate agent and seller as they were not being sent through by Taylor Rose. Have spoken to others who had similar experience to ours so would recommend finding another solicitor unless you want Taylor Rose's lack of responsiveness putting your sale at risk.
I reached out to Taylor Rose to ask about the potential of pursuing a pension company with professional negligence. Margaret Young answered very candidly and gave a detailed response explaining why she would need additional information from other experts first, and that even if I were to arrange that, cases like this are costly and rarely result in a win. I really appreciated her candor and the time she took to give me a detailed response discouraging me from taking legal action. I reached out to two other law firms, one of which did not reply. The other wanted £450 to deliver a message which in all likelihood would be similar to what Margaret did for free. All three firms advertised an initial free consultation. Only one actually gave one. And Margaret's response demonstrated she actually cares about people and her ability to help, not just bagging and billing another client regardless of whether or not they have a good case. If I decide to pursue the matter, I will definitely hire Margaret Young.
