Unhelpful and unwelcoming! A simple request for ad-hoc assistance (Certification of document) was refused as I am “not an existing client”. Hmmm - I wonder how they expect to attract potential new clients with that approach! Edited as realised someone else’s left same review before and JH responded to say the DO provide service to non-clients - yet I have just been told they don’t. When I next need a solicitor for a more lucrative instruction , I know where NOT to go!
I have just finished a long and complicated set of conveyancing transactions with John Hodge and they were brilliant from start to finish. Always responsive on the phone and email, and very thorough. I would definitely recommend them, with particular mention to Mark and Ellie who are both excellent - always helpful, always friendly.
I would not hesitate in using John Hodge Solicitors again for a property transaction, having just sold and purchased a new property using Mark Wright and Louise Garner. At all stages they have been totally responsive, which is so rare in the conveyancing world today. They have been thorough and totally professional throughout the process, which has not been the most straightforward.
I am very pleased with the service I have received from Magdalena Dabrowska. She dealt with all the necessary things when buying a house twice. Very professional and helpful answering all my questions and providing advice. I would highly recommend.
Used for conveyancing. Despite paying top rates, communication was often with a paralegal and it was hard to get hold of the solicitor. Some mistakes made meant delays. Overall, I wouldn't recommend
They won't provide a commissioner of oaths service (signing a document in front of a solicitor) unless you are an existing client. Clearly not interested in getting new clients!
We are due to complete on the sale and purchase of our current and new properties today. We've been in the conveyancing process now for 14 months due to a number of failed transactions in the chain(s) we found ourselves in. From first contact, Mark Wright (acting for us) has been fantastic. He has always made time to explain and guide us through the process, and has given sound advise consistently. Our current transaction was difficult due to a number of technical issues that I suspect many no-sale-no-fee outfits would have overlooked (potentially leaving us in trouble down the line). Mark took time to explain the risks and the best course of action to get these issues resolved. The end result, a title free of the aforementioned encumbrances. Mark has always been polite, professional, extremely competent and a pleasure to deal with. Notably, during a busy time in our transaction Mark took the time to respond to my queries whilst on scheduled annual leave. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend John Hodge Solicitors to anyone requiring conveyancing services in the future. Should we ever require conveyancing services again we'd use John Hodge without a doubt.
I recently used John Hodge for the sale of my home, Mark wright in particular. I cannot pick any faults at all. We had a fairly complex sale with added pressure to exchange and complete from our onwards purchase but we was left at ease knowing our sale was in good hands. Nothing was to much trouble, very professional service & we was able to have quite honest and open conversations when needed.
