Dr Tachibana and her assistant Melissa were really reassuring during the treatment. I had an injection in my hand for ‘trigger finger’ . They explained everything clearly, I felt a slight scratch when the doctor put some local pain relief in my hand and then the injection was painless. Really caring and friendly Dr and assistant.

I had a day procedure under general anaesthetic for removal of varicose veins. I felt very nervous when I arrived at the hospital but the calm and reassuring manner of all the staff very soon calmed my nerves. As for Mr. Mahomed the surgeon who performed the operation I cannot recommend him highly enough . The nursing staff were very kind and empathetic when I returned from theatre and looked after me until I was able to go home early evening.

I am just about to be discharged from Spire Elland after a hip replacement operation yesterday. I could not leave without leaving a public comment on the outstanding professional care that I have received whilst I have been here. Every single person I have met is an absolute credit to both their profession and Spire Elland. Whether they were admin staff, caterers or nurses and doctors I have experienced that they all want the very best for me in their specialist field. Invariably they have done this in the most friendly way and put a very nervous patient at ease. Thank you all so much.

I had an excellent experience when I went to see Dr Bhuskute for my ultrasound. Melissa who was assisting explained what the process was and where I needed to position myself for optimal access to my Achilles. Dr Bhuskute made sure I was comfortable and proceeded with the ultrasound. He then gave me a brief synopsis and said he would send his report to my consultant. Melissa stayed with me the whole time & ensured I had my next consultation appointment before I left. Great service.

I attended Spire Elland for a total right knee replacement and was totally overwhelmed by the kindness, patience and professionalism from all hospital staff. Everyone who I came into contact with really took time to make sure that I felt safe, well informed and looked after. Any questions or concerns that I had were answered with patience and kindness. Rooms were spacious with high levels of sanitation adhered to at all times. Menu choice was varied, delicious and delivered with a smile. Bathroom better and more functional than my own at home. Physios and medical team were amazing and enabled me to regain my independence as soon as possible. I would definitely recommend Spire hospital Elland and am so grateful to everyone for their kindness and care.

I couldn't find star less than 1. continuously postponed my operation for 3 times. Last one cancelled just 1 day before :( There is absolutely no wiggle room for scheduling appointments, no explanation offered for cancellations, and no information provided regarding the time a new appointment would be set. If you have no idea when you can restart taking your prescription, this is especially annoying when you have to stop taking it before a procedure. I would say please don't go for this hospital. I

Don't bother use the NHS. I had a blood transfusion due to losing a lot of blood, I need an operation which would have taken 6mths on the NHS so decided to use my private healthcare and saw a consultant in July. Date for opperation set for Sept, 2 weeks before cancelled and told it will be Oct when I have a holiday booked so not possible as it has a 2-3 week recovery time. I was told someone would call to book me in for Nov, today I get a call and guess what it's Dec just before Xmas so 6 months from the date of the consultant visit. I may as well have gone with the NHS as private is just a scam but my employer pays for this rubbish and this hospital is useless. They use NHS surgeons and they are always doing NHS procedures so why pay they will not give you any special treatment or do anything faster then the NHS anyway. Spire is the worst of the companies as the reviews show, they don't seem to know when the surgeons are available or they do so many NHS operations they have no theatre space as they get more money from the NHS than the medical insurance companies so bump you out.

Before attending Spire, I did the homework, read the google reviews and was a little dismayed by the mid-table rating (3.2). However, my actual experience of Spire was quite different and clearly at odds with these comments. Hospital communication both pre-op and post-op were clear and timely. The hospital itself was welcoming, spotlessly clinical, and presented a calming atmosphere that was unhurried yet efficient. Staff were friendly, well informed, and totally professional. All of which went a very long way to easing a stressful situation. Whilst my experience may be different to that of others, I would suggest that several reviews are bordering on the disingenuous. Personally, I would recommend Spire Elland

Continually cancelled my procedure over the course of ten months (and counting - the latest, scheduled to take place in a few days, was cancelled again today). The first time it happened just as I was about to go into theatre. Absolutely no flexibility regarding appointments, no reasons given for cancellations and no information regarding when appointments will be rescheduled. This is particularly irritating when you have to come off medication prior to a procedure as you have no idea when you can resume it. There's a complete lack of consideration and accountability. Don't believe all the 'We care' posters dotted around the walls. They don't. Unless you're paying privately, of course. The nursing staff are great - it can't be easy having to work under such inept management and unprofessional, arrogant and uncaring consultants. Avoid it if you can.
