Great sport centre with good prices, great facilities and lovely staff. I really enjoy the workout classes - the instructors are so inclusive and welcoming. Lovely cafe too!
Except one staff from there all other staffs are extremely supportive and they are doing their best , very friendly giving the best customer service. Enough parking except in some busy times when they close the parking. Reasonable price. But difficult to get the badminton court booking these times. But still we love this place
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Wonderful Experience for Children with ALN! We visited the Sport Wales National Centre for a school trip where the staff taught the children how to play badminton. The session was perfectly paced and incredibly inclusive. They started with simple activities — catching and tapping a balloon with two hands, then one — before moving on to balancing the balloon on the racket while walking, then using a shuttlecock and eventually playing small games. The staff were fantastic — patient, supportive, and full of knowledge. They gave clear instructions and took time to make sure every child was engaged and comfortable. Some of our children have Additional Learning Needs (ALN), and the coaches were so understanding, adapting the activities and offering alternative methods when needed. It made a huge difference and ensured everyone could take part and feel successful. It was a truly positive and inclusive experience. I can’t recommend the Sport Wales National Centre highly enough for school groups or anyone looking for an encouraging and accessible introduction to badminton!
Imagine my surprise when I walked into the male toilets to see these . Not in the history of mankind has a man ever Menstruated. This is disgusting !!
Overall great stay. Venue is practical and efficient. Rooms are compact but a good fit for its purpose. Soap and shampoo available for a good wash and bed comfortable. Semi view on a forest park. No noise issue. Great food and beverage offering. Great little canteen and friendly staff. The breakfast chef was so nice. Great customer service. Plenty of parking.
Great gym to train in, staff are friendly. But my biggest gripe is how untidy it is, people leave plates on the bars, dumbbells in the right place, and when they do rarely put plates back, they put them in such a way you have to take 6 plates off to get the one you actually want. I feel obliged to have to tidy up after other people because I very rarely see staff come in and tidying up (not that they should, the customers should put their weights back after they've finished). The amount of times I have seen people leave weights on the bar and just leaving is ridiculous, there seems to be no fear of any repercussions, signs do nothing, asking politely does nothing, the gym needs to start making examples out of repeat offenders. This is supposed to be the *national* sport centre, and it is very rarely in a position where everything is as it should be, how embarassing is it to have a gym this untidy and it being the nation sport centre? People don't care about keeping it tidy, and seeing staff training there and not calling anyone out. I would be more than happy to tidy up the gym in exchange for a discount on my almost decade long membership
Welsh Seniors (adults) Badminton Championships. Good range of food & drinks available including foyer cafe & upstairs balcony restaurant serving a good value hot meal.
Came for a judo coaching course inside the Welsh judo centre. Venue was nice and clean and well looked after. Staff were friendly and helpful. I even stayed onsite for the accommodation which was an amazing price! And great facilities and provisions for that. The cafe also served hot food which was freshly cooked and tasty. Looking forwards to attending events at the venue in future.
Our second time at this venue,it does seem like a very busy place with lots going on.Car parking seems to be the issue with the main car park being full which resulted in us parking on the grass which isn't an issue in the summer but if conditions were to be worse you'll end up with a sludgy interior. The arena was well laid out and officiated. For food if your there all day,I would suggest you take your own the selection from the cafe wasn't particular good.
