His advice enabled us to keep our own two very high quality suites of furniture (Michael Tyler and Ercol), by totally re-upholstering three 2-seat sofas and three armchairs with a Linwood fabric of our choice. We wanted to be able to keep an old tired settee as if fitted the room really well as opposed to buying new. We spoke with Gary, he gave us a choice of materials, explained the different prices etc. He collected reupholstered and redelivered to our home the settee. This is no ordinary upholstery service. It is a business founded on a quest for excellence both in following traditional English working practices and an undeniable quality of the finished product. The business started over 50 years ago by a kindly gentleman by the name of Cliffe Barrett who has only very recently handed over the reins to his former apprentice (6 years no less) and work companion of 20 years, Gary Warren who has just completed for us a sympathetic and complete restoration and re-upholstery of a set of 200 year old Regency dining chairs. To say that we are bowled over with what he has done for us would hardly do justice to what we hope to use on a daily basis for the next 30 years and beyond. Thank you Gary.
