Hotel was immaculate even with work going on.. had a blocked toilet in the room we were allocated and the staff dealt with it courteously and changed our rooms straight away! Only downside was 2 beds pushed together isn't the ideal for a couple and the new room was only made up for one which we didn't realise till in the morningon showering as only 1 towel, toiletries, biscuits and coffee! But was a minor thing and would definitely stay here again when visiting my family...

So, Hotels are part of the service industry, and to be good you have to have good service. The Link Hotel doesn't have that, it has excellent service. Unbelievably helpful front desk, who changed rooms for us at checkin, so we could be closer to a relative who was also checking in. We asked about location of church, told to park in Sainsbury's and avoid Dunelm. Also helped with local knowledge of pub we went to, to avoid road works. Amazingly, this hotel offers free coffee compost, a brilliant way to deal with their excess... Costa and Starbucks should instigate this immediately. The room was spacious, the bed very comfortable, and the shower and facilities also. My only carp is about too much dark wood in the bedroom, someone with a pot of creamy white paint could liven it up easily. We didnt have the breakfast, but if it was anything like the buffet they laid out the previous evening, it would have been perfect. Not sure I'll be coming back to this area, but if I do, I will definitely stay here. Well done to staff and management, it was great to stay in such a well-run hotel.

There was no one at the desk when we looked to check in and by the time someone arrived the queue was 4 people deep. The hotel was overrun with what must have been close to 100 children, who were running around the corridors, knocking on doors and slamming doors. It went on until late at night and began again early in the morning. Had I known a schools worth of children would have been staying at the hotel I would have booked elsewhere, but I was not given the courtesy of foreknowledge prior to this. The room was dated and smelled musty, and the floorboards outside the room were noisy. I didn't sleep well for my conference and it felt really disrespectful of the hotel to accept 2 coaches of schoolchildren and not consider the impact this would inevitably have on other guests.

For the price, you get a lot... I was very pleased with this hotel and the service received. The ladies on reception were a great help when I had an issue, resolved super quick. They serve full English and continental breakfast (very yummy) but I had dinner at the Harvester next door. Plenty of ample parking. I would definitely visit this hotel again

Easy check in system. I was very tired after a long day at work. Found my room. Room very clean and all the usual tea, kettle and biscuits. It was nice to see hot chocolate sachets as well. I was unable to access the WiFi. Was a bit frustrating. I phoned reception but not very helpful. I did want to order food to my room. There was some info to say you could. I looked at hotel info on TV but very basic saying they had a restaurant on site. Bo other info. I decided not to phone reception again. Breakfast very good value. All food was hot and lots of choice. Staff regularly topping up food. 1 member of staff clearing tablets was a bit brisk. Leaning over a couples table to clear a used plate. Then did the same to me. No conversation like, have you finished with the cup, or apologising for reaching over my plate of food. We all have off days though.

Lovely big double room. Bigger than king-size bed. Very, very comfortable sleep. Ample facilities in the room. Hallway carpeting was "tired" and has had a life but totally acceptable. Staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating. Food in the Restuarant was also very tasty and above average. Ample free parking available. Amazing discounted price of £58 per room per night (double room) could not be beaten.

Rooms are great, spacious, think premier inn style. However, a few things that bothered me; - the lack of usefully placed sockets.. the two on the desk which you can’t get anything plugged in without damaging your plug/lead - No bed side plug sockets for phone charger - Breakfast, gave me a dodgy tummy, not ideal. - The lunch menu is quite poor, and what they do offer they don’t do it well, I didn’t commit to dinner but I expect it’s the same story. (There isn’t much choice within walking distance other than a harvester over the road) - The lack of walking route / pedestrian pavement from the hotel to anywhere, yet clear signs people are getting through fences / bushes, it’s just not helpful. There’s clearly either; guests using these “shortcuts” because there’s no indication of a pedestrian pavement, or a trespass issue, and I suspect it’s not the latter. However to end on a positive, good parking, everywhere was clean and tidy, the Wi-Fi was fairly good and free, though they block gaming... location also convenient. Overall a good hotel if your not hungry and don’t want to go for a walk.

Had a great stay, yet again. A special shout out to Amel who was incredibly friendly and accommodating. Our group booking had some specific last minute requests and she went above and beyond to accommodate us. Thanks Amel! *****

Attended a christmas party here. Absolutely terrible. The room was so packed that you couldnt get around the tables. Staff couldnt reach round to serve tables properly. Tables werent cleared of drinks. A friend on my table got hit in the head with a plate of hot food. People were falling out and arguing as they wanted to get to the bar but couldnt get past people that were sat down. If there was a fire none of us would of got out alive. Food was awful. When we got there we could see all the desserts out in the corridor.. we had these 2 hours after arriving. Soup was like coloured water, pork was so over cooked you couldnt cut it with a knife. Staff were terrible, swearing, had no idea what they were doing. You could see certain memebers of staff talking about people in the room. Dj was terrible. No Christmas songs. Stormed off at the end before closing! Would never attend anything at this hotel again!
