They didn’t tell us that the floor where we booked had NO air-conditioning. Imagine, in summer, too! The breakfast however was VERY GENEROUS portions, never seen anything like it in the UK. But I would have preferred rather a good night’s sleep in a cool room. ALSO, they only clean the sheets ONCE in three days, so guess how many times they came during our four-night stay?!

Bed Bugs and Silverfish bugs are in the rooms. I woke up to being bitten by bedbugs. I was able to kill and take pictures. The silverfish bug is in the uni dorms next door also. Staff moved me for 2 hours as there was an available room at 4am. Traumatic experience after a hards day work. They had no bug spray or treatment options.

An excellent stay made more perfect by the in-room fridge and the really varied (athlete friendly) hot and continental breakfast options. Staff have all scored "above and beyond" for professionalism and friendliness.

The last-minute booking to be there with our daughter for her birthday, this room was ideally located on the campus, and we could meet our daughter frequently as her accommodation was just a stone's distance. The rooms could do better, and the toilet should have an enclosed shower cubicle, making it nice and tidy. The shower was separated only by the curtains and would make the entire toilet wet if you took it. Despite the request for extra towels, nothing was provided. However, their services were good, prompt, and polite, and for the two-day stay, it was good. The Wi-Fi connections during the day were horrendous and caused us severe issues working remotely. Considering the purpose of this hotel and with guests always occupying this place, they could do better with better broadband services. The location is just too good. You could get to the town centre in 5 minutes by car and 15 minutes walk. Very well located for local shops, pubs, restaurants and clubs.

Generally clean and modern throughout, large bedroom with good amount of storage space. Duty manager was friendly and polite at check out. Whilst the room was advertised as a King Size Room, it was in fact 2 single beds pushed together which creates a gap in the middle of the bed and not ideal for a couple trying to sleep on it. When we arrived at the hotel reception was unmanned and had to wait a few minutes for a staff member to arrive and to be greeted; wasn't overly warm or confident. Instead of a traditional bathroom, a wet room was present which we're not a fan of due to trailing water everywhere in the room once you've had a shower. The main drawback was the comfort of the room; it's kitted out and feels more like a student halls than a hotel. The bed was neither soft or firm but generally unsupportive and definitely one of the worst nights sleeps we've had in a hotel in a long time! The likes of a Premier Inn and Travelodge which would have been £40-50 a night cheaper would have been significantly more comfortable stay wise. Breakfast selection was very light, hot food wasn't very warm and the cold selection was sparse and underwhelming. We also didn't appreciate the mannerisms of the night security who after rudely demanding to see our access cards, couldn't fathom that 2 men were sharing the same bed/room and seemed somewhat flabbergasted by our situation. Unprofessional and verging on homophobic behaviour was definitely not expected!

Great breakfast and lunches but if you are not part of a sport team you need to book in advance.

Most of the staff are friendly. My room wasn't cleaned on arrival, but they apologised and sorted it quickly. Food is very good if you like chicken and fish. The meeting rooms get very noisy due to staff chatter and the televisions being loud in the lobby. I struggled to sleep most nights because of unbelievable noise created by sports teams on the floor above all night long. Nobody seemed to care whenever we reported this.

The team at the Elite Athlete Hotel are really good, professional and approachable. We were lucky to have a quiet stay at the time, the room and hotel were clean, there was a mini fridge, facilities looked great but my stay was for another purpose. The room had a mini fridge which is brilliant if you happen to take plant based mylks and need to store a bottle for the morning cuppa. Food looked so good but needed to be pre-booked! Maybe next time :)

The room was nice, and the service was good, but the bed is hard as concrete and I couldn't sleep for three nights over the course of a conference. Not being able to sleep at a hotel rather defeats the purpose of the hotel. Not good if you have a back you care about.

Loved this place. It’s pretty much brand new. Great vibe. Right in the heart of the university. Clean and tidy. Nice big breakfast in the morning. Would be amazing if they did something about dinner rather than sending you into town which is somewhat inconvenient. Rooms clean and big. Shower curtain tries to kill you but I survived!
