This is a basic but fantastic stop off, second time staying. The rooms are clean hotel staff very helpful and to top it all great indian restaurant next door
It's a dive! The 2 rooms we booked were unclean and not fit for purpose. Beds were extremely uncomfortable and mattresses should be changed immediately. The bathroom fan was disgusting! Although there was new carpet the marks on walls near the floor had what only can be described as vomit splattered over them. There were bugs in the light fittings. The curtains were frayed. We did not enjoy the choice of music that blared out through the late night and all the conversations and door banging when the patrons were leaving. We booked for two nights but only stayed for one. The rooms had an unpleasant stench to them. We will not be returning. Perhaps its a mission for 'The Hotel Inspector'!
I’ve stayed in many hotels for business ,so I can compare. The reception staff are always polite and helpful, but the rest of the hotel doesn’t meet the same standard. Whatever you do avoid the second floor — it often houses homeless people. Most of Room especially 23 smells strongly of urine, and overall, that floor has a bad odour. Rooms are only cleaned every 3 days, even if dirty. Hanging the "Please clean" sign doesn’t help. If you want a clean room daily, book a different room each night. No air conditioning, below-average cleanliness, but the price is fair. There’s also a nearby spot with Indian food and drinks that’s usually lively.
I stayed over a weekend, location wise it's great if you have a car and want a base to explore from. At the hotel there's little to nothing around. I wouldn't say it's child friendly, nothing to do at the location. My room wasn't serviced which was okay I'm clean and tidy. But I was told tea coffee milk would be refreshed daily, it is but only if you ask. It was OK. A few small changes would make a huge difference. D Turpin
Cheap and cheerful hotel. It was an ideal location for us. Easy to find just on the dual carriageway. Checking was simple, our room was a good size and had all we needed. Bed was a bit too soft for us. Exiting was a bit daunting, trying to get out onto the dual carriageway but we managed. For a 1 night stay this was great.
We stayed with our dogs, which was additional but not much more. The bath was great. I thought it was great value overall, and there's a restaurant/ bar adjacent. The staff were extremely helpful and so courteous
Just the job. Mixed sports group so large rooms many beds ideal. Was expecting it to be a bit dingy but was impressed. Decent curry house next door. Going to book for next time.
Friendly staff, perfect location for what we needed and cheap enough but the quality of the room was poor. One curtain covering only half of the window, grout in the bathroom was black, second bed in the room was really a couch, main bed was like marshmallow, no remote for the tv and the mugs were dirty. It did what we needed and being at the back it was quiet but I wouldn't stay there again.
Staff were helpful. Room was clean, but had been set up for one person, rather than two with one mug, one set of towels and one set of shower gels. I was given an extra mug when I asked, but didn't nice the other shortfalls until it was too late.
The staffs are quite pleasing however the rooms / bathrooms should be adequately cleaned / maintained. The flushing system in my toilet requires a special technique to stop regular flow of water in the cistern. Another room offered as a replacement has moulds in the toilet and some parts of the walls are damaged.
