I’m disappointed with my experience when contacting this surgery. On several occasions when I called for help, I felt that my concerns were not taken seriously. I tried to explain how I was feeling, but I didn’t feel listened to or reassured, which was upsetting and frustrating. When you’re reaching out for medical support, you expect to be heard and treated with care. I hope this feedback helps improve communication and patient support in the future.

This was my family doctors for many years, as with a lot of doctors there would be delays in service however, I was always pleased with the service I received, there was a couple of admin issues over the years.. but overall when well. There website helped with quicker bookings and being seen more efficiently, specially if you added photos and proper details if applicable. The staff had always been friendly and tried to help out, despite strains they were under.

Over the past few weeks, I have experienced significant discomfort in my left shoulder. As the pain intensified, I utilized the e-consultancy service. At 9:30 AM, I received a call scheduling an appointment with physiotherapist Troy for 11:15 AM. On this particular occasion, the service was exceptional, and Troy demonstrated remarkable professionalism and courtesy while explaining the nature of the issue. I am hopeful that the prescribed treatment will alleviate my shoulder pain.

Made a request for a GP appointment on the Monday. On Friday I still hadn't had a call back so phoned the practice. The receptionist was robotic and dismissive. I was told that the doctor I had listed as my preferred doctor for the appointment (a field on their own form that states the preferred GP isn't guaranteed) would be on leave the following week and that they didn't know what her diary would look like the week after that. Had I not chased up I would have been left in limbo for weeks. There is no practice management or patient triage. Any functional surgery would have called back within 48hrs and offered an appointment with an alternative GP, especially when the appointment was for pain management.

Need a prescription? No. The Drs say they will but don't, the prescription clerks say fill this out, email this, call here, sell your first born. So you speak to a dr again, they say they will but don't. So you call and an administrative clerk who deals with prescriptions tells you your administrative prescription problem isn't in fact their problem. So, I'm flying BACK TO CANADA TO RECEIVE BASIC HEALTH CARE. Know how long a prescription takes in Canada? 20 minutes. Their prescription system has been digital for decades! Here, a little old lady still walks from Asda to the clinic to collect prescriptions. I pay £3000 a year for the NHS ontop of my taxes. With GP services this incompetent, I'm not sure where that money actually goes.

The doctors all the surgery are first class and really helpful. Unfortunately as per a lot of reviews, the receptionists, especially one are often really rude. I understand it's a tough job dealing with some challenging characters, but whilst waiting for a prescription to be signed on the last two visits, I watched at least fifty interactions between reception and patients, and many instance were not close to professional, often to patients who were not rude but seeking help.

Sadly, like most patients in and around Newport I find myself totally dissatisfied with attempting to book a doctors appointment. 12 minute wait on the telephone, which is okay only to be told that I need to be take a photograph of infection site. So if you don't do technology or you can't navigate to send the photo then no consultation. Found the e-consult facility which resulted in me having to contact the clinic by phone once again. Placed on a call back with a doctor. Such poor service.

The receptionists are the first people a patient sees or speaks to so they should have Empathy, Understanding and Compassion. An average healthy person will become vulnerable and even scared, down and low when ill. When a receptionist is rude and without any social or people skills WHY employ such an individual. This widely reflect on the clinic as they have outstanding doctors but unfortunately the lady at the receptionists ruins the image of the clinic. I hope Caroline the Practice Manager takes accountability for such behaviour. Totally Unacceptable!

Receptionist I spoke to at around 17.30-18.30 today handed me prescriptions but missed one out. Once I said calmly ‘wow hold on’ she became rude and started calling me a little boy. Not what you expect from a doctors. Especially when it was her own blunder to begin with. My first appointment with St. David’s in the 9 months since I moved to wales. Will certainly be changing GP this week

New to the Practice, and I’ve had a very positive experience thus far. Yes telephone lines have been busy at times but all GP practices are. I have managed to get reasonable appointment slots across the two sites. Slight confusion on the urgency of one fit-note required but resolved within 24 hours of me contacting them via email. A polite and in demand receptionist, easy booking in process, and a very considerate and friendly nurse, esp.when I decided to faint on them during the consultation/appointment! Thank you to all the staff for all you do, day in and day out.
