Really nice hotel with very spacious rooms. The room size was great and the beds were extremely comfortable. The hotel was very busy, but that was expected due to New Year and half-term. The pool was also very busy and there was quite a wait to get in, but we managed in the end. The steam room and sauna were lovely and the facilities overall were very good. The lobby smelt lovely, was nicely decorated, and the hotel was very clean throughout. Breakfast was quite manic and chaotic, but there was a good selection of options. The staff were friendly and even brought vegetarian sausages to our table, which was appreciated. Overall, a good stay for the price we paid — very affordable and a nice night away. A good hotel overall.

We just had a lovely staycation for New Years with our kids. The facilities are fantastic, swimming pool big and warm. Leisure centre complete with hot tub, sauna, steam room and a shallow kiddy pool. Staff are very welcoming and professional throughout, big shout-out to Iolanda at the restaurant for high level of customer service. Rooms are clean, beds are comfortable, tea and coffee facilities. We appreciated no fireworks at midnight too which was a bonus staying with small kids. Would definitely return. Thank you.

New Year’s Eve stay – lots of potential, but disappointing overall My friend and I booked a one-night spa stay with dinner, breakfast and a 30-minute treatment each, hoping for a relaxing and celebratory way to see in the New Year. The idea was perfect, but sadly the execution fell flat. The staff themselves were kind and helpful, however the hotel seemed completely unprepared for the volume of guests. Organisation throughout the stay was lacking. Dinner food was lovely, but service was extremely slow. We weren’t asked for a drinks order at any point during the meal and only had drinks because we’d thought to get some from the bar beforehand, as our table wasn’t ready at our reserved time. The swimming pool was dangerously overcrowded, to the point staff had to quickly introduce time slots once it became unmanageable. The changing rooms were unpleasant — strong smells, lockers not working, and generally not the standard you’d expect from a spa hotel. Our massage was genuinely lovely and the spa area itself felt calm and welcoming, which was a highlight of the stay. Unfortunately, the New Year’s Eve atmosphere was completely lacking. The bar felt empty and flat, with no music or sense of occasion. When we (and other guests) asked if there could be music or a countdown to midnight, the manager refused and made us feel like an inconvenience for expecting some atmosphere on New Year’s Eve. As a result, we ended up leaving the hotel and taking a group of fellow guests to a local pub just to find some atmosphere and actually mark the New Year, which really says it all. When we politely explained our disappointment the following morning, the receptionist was kind but noticeably defensive, and the response offered was a very minimal discount, which didn’t feel reflective of the overall experience or the price paid for a New Year’s Eve stay. Overall, there’s real potential here, but the lack of planning, atmosphere and organisation — especially for such a premium night — made this stay disappointing.

The hotel was wonderful and spacious with plenty of room to get your steps in for the day. The reception smelled amazing and has a very welcoming design and spacious reception area. All the staff were very well presented along with big smiles from all. The grounds are very spacious due to holding a golf course on site. The swimming pool was kind of small for that size hotel but it was OK, the sauna and steam room are always an added bonus. The food within the 2 resturants I believe are very overpriced for the quality and standard of food. You can get room service for £5 charge. It may have just been me but I dont recommend it based on my experience as my food came cold but to be honest the reception staff done me proud in the end. The overall experience of the hotel was very present so would I go again (yes) but not anytime soon as I like to experience other hotels and like somewhere new. Oh nearly forgot to say the breakfast is the best breakfast I've ever had at any hotel loved it and highly recommend.
