This is a Working Mens Club which has been in existence for many years. Sadly about 2 years ago, due to inefficient management, it was on the brink of closing down. However due to the hard work and dedication of some of the members, it has been brought back into working order and whilst there is still a fair way to go, nevertheless it is thriving. I visit the club three times a week to call the bingo. There is free entertainment in the bar on Saturday evenings and other events take place at certain times throughout the year, i.e. Bank Holiday discos, pantomime at Christmas, etc. Also room hire for parties and other events is available. At present the enthusiasm of the members continues so hopefully the club will carry on into the future.

Good for groups, parties, etc. Carboot sale outside and indoors held every Thursday only £5 for the pitch. Lovely filled batches for sale, including stuffing batches without the meat, still very tasty.

Arrived at the club Friday The car park looked like a rubbish tip . The decor looks like it needs a total revamp. The toilets were filthy The seats in the concert room were filthy and stunk. Maybe the committee need to get it all sorted . Very disappointing.

Had a great Friday night in there. A comedian was on in the Concert Room. The Lounge was partly full, mainly retired or semi retired couples. The Bar was busy, a few Committee men were playing Crib at one of the tables in the centre of the smoke filled room. In the Game's Room some young men were playing Snooker, a Bagatelle league match was also on. The staff were friendly and a pint of Harp was. 72p. It was 1986.

Lager £3.20 per pint (more than other clubs. Decor tired, worn and despite annual beer increases remains low standard. Committee members are active players of bingo (gaming act violation?) Gents toilets well below standard hygiene requirements (smell etc!) Jan 2019
