We had an awful experience on Christmas Day. My Mother in law paid Β£92 x 7 as a treat for no Christmas Day cooking. We arrived for our 2.30 sitting.. we waiting, and waited, watching the other people around us waiting and waiting. No communication at all, as we still waiting patiently, obviously as it was Christmas, the busiest time of the year. We continued waiting. We bought multiple packs of crisps to fill up, by 3.30. We eventually had our starters at 3.45 which was edible and we were starving. We then waited again, for another hour, having to eventually ask for our meal. By this time a table next to us left to go and get a Chinese. The people behind us were laughing as they just had their starters. When our main CHRISTMAS MEAL arrived it was less than satisfying, one very small lamb chop, one roast potato, a load of red cabbage and sweet mash potato, no carrots, sprouts or anything else. When my mother in law commented on how ridiculous the amount of food was for Β£92 per head, the lovely waitress commented that we had veg as well, while she quickly walked off with no care in the world. We waited again and had to again ask for our pudding as we weee still starving, and we paid so may as well wait, and wait. We were pleasantly surprised by the lovely cheese cake and chocolate cake that arrived…eventually!!! Best part of our Christmas Day was dessert. The amount of money for this 3 course meal was laughable. But we did have food at home to rescue the rest of our CHRISTMAS DAY!!

Would leave no stars if I could. Horrible experience on Christmas Day. Waited 1 hour in between every course. Starter came which was 3 prawns and the smallest bit of bread, the lamb dinners came which had an embarrassingly small singular. Lamb chop, a single roastie and cabbage. The dessert was the only good thing about the whole experience. Waiters were rude and didn’t speak to you at all. Paid over Β£600 which is a rediculous price for food that wasn’t even worth Β£5. We complained and the staff couldn’t care less.A table of 10 left before their main came because they were bored or waiting and went to order a takaway. We should have done the same. Everyone also had to order crisps to fill up on as we were all so hungry. Aweful experience. Do not go there.

I attended Fairwater Conservative Club for a friend's 70th Birthday Party. The building is very grand, and a blend of very old sections, and some newer extensions. The main hall is best for bigger functions to create a good atmosphere. Bar staff on the night were helpful, and when the buffet was served there was plenty of room to move around or head back to one of the many table groups. The hall has a large dance floor, and stage, so good if you are planning an event for a large group of guests. There is a garden area with seating for those that may prefer the fresh air in summer months, or for those that may not want to be in with the main entertainment. The bar area is at a slightly higher level than the main hall, and could be used for smaller groups as it is quite spacious. In short a venue worth considering, but I would add a note of caution that if leaving late at night it is very dark in the car park area, and this area could do with better lighting.
