WE WOULD NEVER LEAVE A CUSTOMER STRANDED AT THE AIRPORT. Just got back from my holiday with family and on the way to the airport we were asked to check the flight details were correct and to sign for them. My wife did this and signed the form , she then a few munutes later stated she thinks the dates are wrong for the return travel so asked to re-look at the documents. We noticed the date of return travel was wrong and brought this to the attention of the driver who told us not to worry as he will make sure we were picked up on the correct date. My wife as she was worried asked multiple times if the date needed to be changed and was repeatedly told not to worry by the driver. Absolute travel arrived to pick us up 1 day early and had tried to ring us through the night but we were asleep and they left us a voicemail to say they had come to pick us up but we were not there. The next day we contacted them by text to state we spoke to the driver about the pick up date as we noticed an error and he assured us everything was ok. A reply from them was we do a high number of airport drop offs every week and the driver won't remember a conversation with you and stated we had signed the document with the incorrect dates. I then asked for Absolute travel to at least speak to the driver and when they got back to us they stated the driver does remember having a conversation with us but stated that all the details were correct that is why he did'nt change the details. This is a complete lie and why would we query the dates multiple times with the driver if they were correct in the first place. Absolute travel stated they will NOT LEAVE ANY CUSTOMER STRANDED AT THE AIRPORT and offered us as a goodwill gesture to pick us up for £80 but wanted payment via a transfer upfront. I thought this was shocking but due to it being a stressful day and not wanting to be lumbered at the airport with my wife and child i sent a reply stating we will be happy to be picked up and i will pay the £80 in cash to the driver when he picks us up. This message was sent just before we boarded our plane and upon arriving back in the UK we collected our luggage and were walking out expecting to be picked up when my wife got a message stating that they had only just seen our message and didnt have time to organise a driver so ABSOLUTE TRAVEL DID LEAVE US STRANDED AT THE AIRPORT which they claim they will never do. I am in the opinion they didn't send a driver as i refused to transfer £80 even though they preffered cash when it suited them. This is the first negative review i have ever given and never usually do this sort of thing but believe the customer service was disgusting and the driver has lied to cover his own back. I admit we initially made an error with the date of return and signed the form so was partly at fault but spotted the error and addressed this at the time with the driver who assured us everything would be OK. My advice would be be careful with this firm and i would never use them again.
