   We visited today for a first flying lesson for our son, and its safe to say that we are all hooked. From the initial contact with the man who mans the phones ( I'm so sorry, cant remember his name but he is fantastic) to the briefing ( we had Sylvester who was utterly brilliant) and, ultimately, the flight itself with Ted, we were blown away by their quiet brilliance, professionalism and love for what they do. We will be back...again, again and again. What a gem of a place, thank you all

   Watch out for Almat - they suck you in with excellent organisation, great instructors, and a friendly atmosphere - that's how they get you. I switched schools to Almat having had a less than ideal experience previously, and was ready to make demands. I was quickly defused when Simon laid out a plan to get me where I wanted to be. My first lesson showed the quality of instruction - it was excellent, and continued to be so as I learned to fly here. If you choose Almat you will look back. Fondly.

   I bought a trial flight for my boyfriend and he thoroughly enjoyed it. Everyone at the flying school were great and made the experience easy and fun. I would highly recommend this flying school to anyone who is interested in learning how to fly. It also makes a great gift.

   My son decided at the age of 13 that he wanted to be a pilot, he flew locally to us from the age of 13 to 15 landing and taking off on grass at a very small local airfield. Liam then needed to gain more experience and needed expert guidance. At 16 he was flying solo, we did originally try another school in Coventry prior to Almat Flying Academy but that was a total disaster. Coventry is not local for us but they have kept Liam in the air and nurtured him right to the end where he now leaves them only to finish his commercial pilots licence. We could not recommend this flying school enough and as a parent you can trust these not to keep milking your bank account unlike other flying schools.

   I did the "day in the life of a pilot". It was such an amazing experience. My pilot Ali was really friendly and welcoming and made me feel really comfortable. He showed me how we create a flight route and the file a flight plan. Each step of the whole experience I was involved making me really feel as though I was a pilot! Everyone at the academy was so friendly and helped to make the day feel really special. The academy building and fercilities were well maintained and clean along with the aircraft so you know you are in good and safe hands. Thank you so much to everyone at Almat and my pilot Ali for making the day so memorable for me! Hannah Rhodes

   Had booked a flying trial lesson for 45minutes. Showed up there expecting they'd just give me controls for a few minutes and that's it but man, what an experience. I was allowed to fly the aircraft for most part after we crossed the BHX airspace limits. James flew with me and what a kind and sweet guy, patient enough to explain all the details and answer all the questions. Even the reception service was one of the most friendly receptions I've ever had - kind and answer to the point. I might or might not take up a PPL but I'll never forget the experience that I had here being an Avgeek. Would definitely recommend everyone to give it a go, forget the price - the experience is worth everything you're paying for. I did have an issue with the video recording where the audio did not get recorded properly, but not that unhappy about it. If you have a GoPro, you can carry it, they have a holder on the aircraft where you can fix it(atleast the 152 I flew had it).

   Really pleased with the direction Almat is going following the recent changes, they have focused on responding positively to feedback from club members and other customers. Great team of instructors making training fun while keeping it safe and professional. Benefits for club members are great, I have kept my membership here despite moving away from the area, can't beat the service provided for the price. Recently completed my Aerobatic training which was a fantastic experience, highly recommended!!

   I've done my PPL training with Almat and would recommend it to anyone at any level. All the instructors in their new line-up are very professional and share their passion with all individuals. I have to highlight Carmen whose enthusiasm is unrivalled. I love flying with her, she knows how to teach you the right techniques and she knows how to have fun! Private hire is probably the cheapest in England, rivalling non-equity groups, with the platinum membership. Super highly recommend!
