It's taken a long time for us to write this review after an horrific experience at this vets concerning our dog. Our dog developed a lump on his tail and we took him to Penstone Vets in Langley where he took a sample and recommended that it was surgically removed. The sample came back clear, however it was suggested we still remove the lump. Following the surgery, the wound which was half way down the tail was carelessly bandaged and at this point no medication was prescribed, not even antibiotics to prevent infection. Follow on appointments were made to have the dressing changed and it was clear that the wound was getting worse rather than better. In addition, the bandage was often coming off within hours and on one occasion, we had not even got to our car in the carpark after a new dressing when the bandage came off. We took our dog back in and the vet suggested we place a baby's sock over the bandage?? It was only upon request that pain relief and antibiotics were prescribed. Our dog was clearly in pain and distressed on top of the serious concerns we had about this practice. The outfit is unprofessional, lacks care and attention and clearly is not medically fit to be caring for animals. The facility is unclean and there is zero compassion shown by the vet or the reception staff who act as the vet's assistant. The bottom line is that we had to take our dog to another vet, incur further costs which ended in him having half his tail amputated. We were advised that this could have been avoided had the appropriate medication been prescribed at the right time rather when an infection had clearly set in. This caused the entire family extreme distress which is why it's taken me so long to even relive the horror and trauma of the entire experience which happened last summer. When we attempted to raise these concerns with the vet he attempted to blame it on something we had or hadn't done and accepted no responsibility for his negligence. I hope this never happens to anyone else and if this review can save even one dog from this incompetent practice then it will be totally worthwhile.

I picked this vet as my parents used to take our dogs there when I was younger and can only remember good things about the place. I have recently just got a dog myself and thought it would be a good choice to take him there as well. I visited the vets earlier today and was approached by "Anna Marie". She came outside and was a bit weird around my dog, she walked towards him and when he dribbled on her leg a little, she seemed disgusted and opened the door shouting to her colleague for a tissue. She then came back out with her colleague and her colleague went to take the lead off me and I question why is he going in when we haven't even spoken about anything yet. Her colleague explained a few thing which made me more comfortable so I let him take the dog inside. Straight off the back Anna asked how will I be paying which stuck me by surprise leaving me a little uncomfortable. I was asking Anna regarding a previous conversation on the phone with my dog being late for his vaccination, I asked about the vaccination and if he was getting one today to which Anna got funny and was getting frustrated for some reason, I then asked again with her responding raising her voice and telling me shes super confused with an attitude. I told her to get my dog and she still seemed to have an attitude. Her colleague who she INSISTED was her assistant was a nice guy and has alot more people skills then Anna. I only want what's best for the dog and I do not feel at ease leaving my dog anywhere near Anna. It's safe to say I will not be back and will expressing my experience to others.

Great service. Agreed to see my budgie for beak/nail clipping when it's hard to find an avian vet in these parts. Budgie happy and well groomed. Advice given. Thank you..

Have been using this clinic for over 15 years. Staff are caring and professional. Several of my pets have had planned surgeries and also emergency overnight stays. Costs are reasonable and you never feel that anything unnecessary is being pushed on you. It helps that they do blood testing and operations on site.
