Superb club with outstanding restaurant. Office staff are polite, helpful and a pleasure to deal with. Yard team are knowledgeable and approachable. It is no wonder this is the premier club in Cardiff Bay to be a member of and berth a boat

What a lovely place, peacefully situated, friendly staff and lovely food. An absolute treat of a place. Facilites for moorings are on the website but great information in reception, all forms are on QR codes and the security is excellent.

Cardiff Bay Yacht Club is a bit of a hidden gem if you love the water. It's tucked away on the southern edge of Cardiff Bay and offers some seriously stunning views. On a sunny day, especially at sunset, the bay looks amazing with calm waters, city skyline views, and boats gently bobbing in the marina. It has that perfect mix of peace and liveliness depending on the time of day. What makes the place special isn’t just the scenery, though. The atmosphere is super friendly and relaxed. Whether you’re a seasoned sailor or someone completely new to it all, people here are welcoming and helpful. There’s a strong sense of community, with loads of regular events like races, social evenings, and casual get-togethers at the clubhouse. It never feels exclusive or intimidating. The sailing facilities are impressive too. Because it's located in the bay, the water is tide-free and calm, which makes it ideal for learning. The club runs a full range of RYA sailing and powerboating courses, and there’s a great junior section for kids who want to get involved. Whether you’re after training or just a casual day on the water, it’s got you covered. The clubhouse itself is modern and cosy, with a decent bar that looks out over the water. It's a lovely spot to grab a drink after sailing or even just to chill and take in the view. There are also showers, meeting rooms, parking, and decent Wi-Fi if you’re planning to stay a while. It’s easy to get to from the city and has everything you’d need for a proper sailing base. All in all, Cardiff Bay Yacht Club isn’t just for sailors. It’s a peaceful, welcoming spot that makes you want to spend time by the water. Whether you’re racing, learning, or just relaxing with a drink, it’s got the right mix of beauty, community, and good vibes. Definitely worth checking out.

Great place to moor when visiting the bay. The visitors berths are close to the clubhouse, with water available. Lovely staff in the yard and clubhouse...nothing was too much for them. Clean clubhouse with great views over the bay towards the barrage. Large shower area, with plentiful hot water. Since writing my review I have joined the club and am delighted to say that my comments about the staff are magnified...the bar and restaurant are excellent, with well presented and plentiful food available. The bar is well run and there is a good variety of drinks available. Outside the clubhouse is a good sized and well maintained carpark. One thing I've yet to mention is the fantastic view from the bar out over Cardiff Bay from Penarth and past the Barrier around to Cardiff. I've attached a video. The club is vibrant with a pleasant businesslike buzz and lots to interest everyone. For he sailor, there is the pleasure of having the availability of the Bay with its constant level of water if you just want to have a gentle sail, or out through the barrier into the channel for something more adventurous.

Tranquil base in the midst of the Covid madness. Friendly members observing social distancing but it is all outdoors (bar obviously closed) & in the fresh air! Lots of wildlife!
