I don’t usually write reviews but felt like I could not let the amazing devotion and attentiveness from employees of Ivy Lodge go unnoticed. Last week on Friday 12th December, my senior cat, Boot, got stuck on a social club’s gate that was kitted with wires and spikes to prevent animals from getting in. Ironically, he was actually shut inside when they left their back gate open unattended, so in fact was trying to escape the premises. My partner found him, after hearing him wailing for help. Boot was tangled in the wire, paws were bleeding and twisted and he was understandably extremely stressed. We managed to pry him off the gate and called Ivy Lodge in hope to get an urgent appointment. Esther, the Receptionist, was superb. Even though it was midday on a Friday (the day where the practice do their surgeries all day) she spoke to the veterinarians to see if they can see Boot in between surgeries, to which they said they can do. When we arrived, Esther, was so lovely. She offered my boyfriend and I hot beverages, she does make an amazing cup of tea, and dug out some chocolate and sweets from their kitchen too to share with us. Boot was seen to by the vet very quickly. After assessment, it seems that Boot ripped out a claw, as well as snapping another claw and potentially broke a toe. He was given some pain relieve medication and was told to rest up. He had a limp for the next few days, which the vet mentioned could happen but now almost a week on, he seems to be back to his normal, happy self. Thanks again to the amazing staff at Ivy Lodge in seeing Boot in such short notice. We are very happy that Boot is registered with yourselves. Hopefully next time we see you will be for normal circumstances.

I have just changed my dog’s vets to ivy lodge. Amazing staff. My dog is extremely nervous and often fear aggressive. They took time in getting to know her and made her so comfortable to the point she was even wagging her tail. We have had numerous issues with her and her first visit feels like we got further than any other place we have been too! Couldn’t find a fault at all

Ivy Lodge Vets have been fantastic over the last month with our cat Pippa. She developed a leg weakness and at times was unable to move. After a week of anti-inflammatory medication Frankie diagnosed a subluxating patella. This needed orthopaedic surgery and a lot of post op care. The whole team (vets, nurses and reception staff) have been kind, caring and informative throughout the whole process. Frankie sent us photos of Pippa following her surgery which was very reassuring. We highly recommend Ivy Lodge Vets for their kind & caring approach to both pets & their owners.

Incredible service from the whole team. Frankie came in as a new patient who is quite a timid dog but despite all she has gone through over the past few days when I collected her you could see her true love for the staff which shows just how well on a personal caring level she was looked after, let own the actual treatment,. They have a great app to be able to communicate throughout the whole journey and honestly couldn't ask for anything more, so much so, we're now part of their care plan! Hoping not to have to see them again anytime, but know when we have to, there's no better place for her. Thanks again to Franki and Esther!

My family have been bringing our pets to Ivy lodge veterinary Clinic for over 20years. I have no qualms with the Vet, my issues is with the receptionist. I am a receptionist myself dealing with end of life patients. I rang the clinic to make an inquires as my dog has MD and will need to be euthanized at some point in the next few weeks. I was feeling very teary even having to ask questions regarding this, however the young receptionist made it very obvious that I was an in convenience to her day, she was without compassion and could not wait to end the phone call. This member of staff could do with some training on how to speak to the human customers. I am so upset that I will not be using this veterinary clinic again.

I do not recommend Ivy Lodge Vets! They currently have staffing issues and are running their practise with the Horse Vet and the Head Nurse. They are not communicating this fact with their customers and, as a consequence, my dog almost died during surgery of being in the latter stage of a fatal condition. (I took her to another vet as soon as I realised the staffing situation). This could have been avoided had there not been a delay. What’s more, I hand delivered a letter to Ivy Lodge outlining my experience, and have received no response. This is from a vet I have been using for nearly 12 years. I don’t think they care!

This vets — unlike many others in busy town settings — is easy to drive to just outside Romford and near Upminster. Set in quiet pretty countryside On the edge of a farm, there is plenty of easy free parking and a lovely relaxed clean-air atmosphere. I need this calmness when I take my anxious pet for attention! The staff are professional and caring . They seem to be up with the latest knowledge in what your pet needs and I am very happy that my cat Pixie now gets probably better attention than I do! Thank you Ivy Lodge
