   I recently purchased a base and mattress from this shop, but I won't purchase anything from there in future. I just wanted to choose a bed without the sales staff putting pressure on me to make a purchase. I felt rushed into it and, as a result, the mattress I purchased isn't the right one for me. It's way too soft, offers very little support and I wake up with a bad back every morning which lasts all through the day and into the night. This has only happened since I've had this mattress. The label on the mattress claims "You're sure to have an undisturbed and restful night's sleep". How I wish that were true! It's the worst mattress I've ever slept on and no advice was offered regarding firmness of the mattress, so I'm not a happy customer. I'd rather support local, independent businesses but in future I won't waste my hard earned money and I'll shop elsewhere. I certainly wouldn't recommend Scott's to anyone. 0/5 rating for both the mattress and store.

   The staff at Scott’s could not have been more helpful. We took ages trying out different riser-recliner chairs for an elderly relative with lots of helpful advice from Rachel, who was very patient. She made every effort to cut the long delivery times from the manufacturer to get us the chair urgently, even though I suspect we were the customers from hell! We received calls from her sooner than expected and the chair was delivered ahead of schedule by a friendly team who also took away an old chair. We really could not be more grateful for the wonderful customer service.

   It’s great to have this shop on the high street. I needed a new bed, and I didn’t fancy the drive to one of the big retail parks. Scott’s is just a walk away, and the sakes staff are really helpful - but left me alone to get on with picking what I wanted. Once I found my bed, the knowledgeable sales staff talked me through options, additions and extras, answered my questions professionally and organised a delivery date and time that suited me. Fantastic service, and great to have in the high street!

   Ordered wardrobes, chest of drawers blanket cupboard as well as a blanket box and glass cabinet Was told the date that they would be delivered. Arrived early and although due to the house stairs had difficulty in getting wardrobes into my room, but did not complain and soon sorted and made right as well as the chest of drawers Two days later came with my glass cabinet and again ,they came and put the cabinet together.

   I am relatively new to this town but I am part of this community now and wanted to support local businesses. Instead of going online, I purchased a duvet at Scott’s. I was not informed the shop does not accept returns. At home I realized I bought the wrong size. Obviously I did not use that product and it was still in the original packaging. I wrapped it in double plastic film (to quarantine it) and went back to exchange it next Monday. I offered to buy some other products instead. I was told the employees were not allowed to accept returns however the owner might be willing to show some ’goodwill’. They kept saying. „the owner will be here tomorrow, come then.” But the owner was never there and I was sent away four times. I even left my telephone number but nobody called and there was no goodwill. Above is an explanation why people do not shop locally. Have I bought the same duvet on Amazon, my customer rights would be much better protected and I would be able to return it without begging anyone. Also, I would be paying half price. Will I buy at Scott’s again? Sadly, no. I really tried but all I’ve got for supporting local businesses is an unwanted expensive duvet and disappointment.

   I went in to get a good mattress for my daybed. I chose a Burnham mattress which was delivered in the next week. It is so comfortable and good quality, i am so glad i went to buy it locally in Scotts furnishings, so pleased with it.
