Very happy. I've taken my rabbits, cats and budgies here over the past few years. The staff are all lovely, very helpful and efficient and you can always get an appointment quickly, which can be vital sometimes. Highly recommended.

Avoid this vets at all costs !!! I took my dog to be spayed she was a large breed and we were advised of the risks involved. My dog had complications with the spaying but she did pull through and was allowed home the next day. At this point we paid just over £1000. When she was allowed home she was leaking lots of fluid but we were told its fine go home. She had a follow up appointment afew days later still leaking fluid but we were again told she was fine no concerns. Over the next 2 weeks my dog lost over 9kg in weight was sick and couldn't wee properly. We took her back another 7 times in a 2 week period and paid another £400 for antibiotics, swobs and anti sickness tablets as she was mis diagnosed as having a urine infection. After 2 weeks of back and forth I said my dog needed to b re operated on as its clear there's something wrong. The vet wouldn't do it that day as he wasnt confident and didn't have enough staff so we had to wait until monday when an external company came to do a scan before surgery which cost a further £600. Once the scan was done it was the established my dogs internal organs were all completely stuck together as her bladder had been damaged during her spaying surgery and she had to be put to sleep as there waa nothing they could do.I was devastated i put in a complaint as we wanted answers and we wanted the final bill of another £1000 to be amended as we didn't feel we should have to pay for medication which was never going to work but mainly we wanted an explanation of how my dog could die in such a barbaric way. Joanne finlay was aggressive in her response from the outset and basically told us your dog died due to her body fighting the operation !! A ludicrous response we have proof she died o chonnic peritonitis caused by their error as we requested her full medical reports. No apology was provided just the bill of 1026 was outstanding and had to be paid in 7 days. We've paid over £2500 to donalsons to basically kill our dog !! Looking at reviews seems were not the only ones with a similar experience !!!! Don't not risk your pets lives with them they do not care about animal welfair at all!!!

Lisa the nurse at Donaldson Vets Sowerby Bridge was outstanding. I needed advice about my 15 year old dog who was dying at home. Even though I wasn't registered with this practice, I just needed guidance and advice from a professional. Lisa without hesitation assisted me and was very knowledgeable and reassuring and gave me the answers I needed to my questions. Lisa is a truly caring person and absolutely a credit to the Veterinary trade. Thankyou so much Lisa and all the best for the future. Jason

We’ve been using Donaldson’s vets Sowerby Bridge for over twenty years (from when it’s was previously Prospect Vets), and wouldn’t take our animals anywhere else. The staff are friendly, helpful and when ‘that’ time comes with pets, extremely caring and compassionate. Since Donaldson’s took over the practice, the level of care and personal touch has stayed the same, as many of the staff remained. We’ve also used the Donaldson’s main vet centre in Almondbury, where the service is just as good, despite us not being on first name terms with the staff there. Having our animals insured by Pet Plan takes away much of the stress of ownership as Donaldson’s are happy to deal directly with the insurers, on our behalf, with the bigger bills - of which there have been many over the years! Excellent vets.

DO NOT USE!!!! My sister sadly had to get her cat put to sleep today, she had already been through the appointment to get this organised as she went in today for the procedure to happen, the vets proded and poked him, asked loads of questions that had already been spoke about in the previous appointment, decided to sedate him which did not work the first time so they tried AGAIN! They did not keep him stable on the table or give him any type of support as he then fell off the table as he had no strength in him! The way they treated him should never ever happen to any animal in any situation especially at the end of their lives. DISGUSTING HUMAN BEINGS BEING ABLE TO TREAT AN ANIMAL THIS WAY, never mind leaving my sister in a traumatic state and having this as her last memory! They then went on to only be bothered about themselves not having change in their till and having to keep a note on the file of owing 0.91p! After everything she has just been through?!?! JOKE! DO NOT PUT YOUR TRUST IN THESE PEOPLE.

Sowerby practice has really gone downhill. Best vets seem to have left and the old receptionist there now is basically abrupt, borderline rude. Not to mention the prices sky rocketing, blame Putin or covid if you like but when it's just for paperwork you know it's just greed.

Miscommunication re. appointment but (eventually) made to feel welcome. Thankfully the vet could see us/our dogs for vaccination. There’s a few spaces for parking and a precarious steep entrance onto a busy road. Hold on to your dog lead on exit …

My girl has been treated with the best care and the staff are fantastic really passionate they absolutely give 110% always delightful to speak to and always get given a answer no matter how silly the question might sound in their eyes they would rather you ask them than not ask and cause medial harm to your dog We had spat surgery and they was fabulous with her I would highly recommend them as a vet
