Went here for my 50th birthday with my wife and two girls. Staff were wonderful and the food was great. Only dropped one star off the atmosphere as the restaurant was boiling in the unusually hot temperatures, I know it's not normal temps but a few fans may have helped.
OMG I love the food here! We came for a cheeky lunch date and I had the steak sandwich, which I asked the chef to cut up instead of coming whole as it’s much easier to eat, and my husband had the fish pie, we were both full to the brim. We sat outside in the sun and it was lovely. Only minor complaint is that when the waitress bought our food out she never asked us what sauces we wanted or got us any and I had to go to a table that had left and collect theirs. The lady then bought out someone else’s food and did the same thing and the gentleman had to go to another empty table and collect their condiments. Maybe a little word to the waiting staff and for her to smile. Will definitely come back again for food xx
Perfect location for a nice meal. Staff excellent, friendly and very helpful. Food was great, well cooked and tasty with an packed menu for every palate. The pub has a seperate restaurant area from the bar, but you can eat in either. Only downside we found, was the very limited parking, which may be a problem depending how busy the pub is. Upside, get there early and enjoy.

Just got back from here and had we both had lovely meals. Couldn't fault it. The staff were really friendly. Really big portions. Well worth the money. We will definitely return with friends. A lovely cosy pub.
We went to The Malt Shovel last Saturday lunchtime for a family friend’s birthday. We were there at lunchtime on opening so got great service with drinks and taking our food order. The menu had a massive selection which were all reasonably priced and what struck us was the portion sizes! They were HUGE! Very happy Diners. We really enjoyed ourselves and will be returning soon! Many thanks to the Staff for making it a good experience.
Absolutely unbelievably great, good, pub food! I have never been so full in my life! Both defeated by maim courses. Fantastically well priced, brilliant value for money. Home cooked, pub food, done to its best! We have found a hidden Gem, local to our new home. The menu itself is Vast! I could come twice a day for a week, not eat the d a me thing twice. Staff are warm, welcoming, friendly, helpful. We had a brilliant time. We will be back soon, but won't eat all day before we come next time! Food coma! Happy place. Thank you. See you soon guys.
