We had a surprise birthday meal here recently and honestly can’t rate it high enough! Attention to detail was great, food was extremely high quality and the service was next level. The staff went above and beyond to look after us and make sure my son had an amazing 30th birthday! Highly recommend a visit !
We came here for a family party. Had a brilliant time. The food was excellent and the staff were brilliant too which really helped to make a memorable day! Would most definitely come back!
Absolutely stunning food. Wish I had more pictures but we enjoyed it too much!! Cannot wait to come back when the menu rotates. Beautiful and peacefully decorated restaurant with a simple but almost Michelin style approach to their food. So glad we found this place. It will become a place on our rotation for sure. We had a 3 course meal and shared it all because we couldn’t choose. Thank you so much for a gorgeous meal and wonderful service.
This is our first visit here and it won’t be our last. We absolutely love it here! The atmosphere outside and under the pergola is very pleasant indeed. We came for Sunday lunch and the food is cooked and presented to absolute perfection and all the flavours work very well together. If you’re looking for somewhere new to go, this place is well worth driving to, even if it’s well out of your way. Overall, an outstanding experience! (2 course £37, 3 course £42)
I was looking for a good roast on a Sunday, this came up but it wasn’t rated at the top. It should be. I picked here because of a photo I’d seen of someone else’s meal. I had the same and can say that this is a superb roast dinner. We had bread and olives to start which were lovely. We had our little ones dinner come out ahead and tried that which was super tasty. Then ours arrived and it was everything you’d want in a roast. Potatoes were crunchy but fluffy, beef was soft and flavoursome. Gravy was rich and the veg and Yorkshire were yummy. Cauliflower cheese is also really good. A lot of places miss the mark when it comes to a great roast because they’re just not good enough or they’re trying to feed too many people in one go. This place has it spot on. I will say that we parked opposite In the pubs car park, there are a few spaces out the front but you will be lucky to park there. That is the only element this place doesn’t have but the food makes up for it tenfold. Really nice relaxed atmosphere with little nooks to talk and drink. But also a nice family atmosphere, our 1 year old enjoyed herself. Would recommended, and I’m looking forward to trying breakfast and lunch there. No
Had the most wonderful time. Couldn’t recommend enough. Food was excellent. We had Pork Belly & Risotto for mains, Apple Tart & Chocolate Bomb deserts. All the food was of exceptional quality, with elegant presentation & great flavour. The wines we had were both fairly priced & sourced for being natural / organic. Likewise breads were locally sourced from the best bakery in the area. To top it off, the service was spot on. Helen & the team take the time to ensure everything is just to you liking, but in a very relaxed, friendly way. Even though our waitress was young, her enthusiasm & willingness shone through. Will be back!
We came here for Sunday lunch.I had the roast beef and my wife had the roast pork, both meals were outstanding we both felt that these were the best roast dinners we had eaten locally.would highly recommend this place.
Had a fantastic evening at The Fox. From start to finish, the whole experience was amazing. We had the Beef Tartare to start with the Beef bourguignon and Roast Guinea Fowl for main ( absolutely divine ), then the Apple Tarte tatin for pudding. All of the dishes were incredible and we are so luckily this restaurant is on our doorstep. We will be back, again and again!
New Year’s Day for my partner’s birthday lunch. The whole experience was super relaxed and en point. From the refurbished interior with a calm natural feel, the menu options (could have eaten them all), the superb wine list (all minimally processed) and the very friendly and attentive service. We had steak tartare to start with beef bourginion to follow - both absolutely delicious. Highly recommend and will be back.
