   Absurd amount of security kabuki to open an account. Telephone passcodes to even talk to anyone, signature cards, face id, grid cards for access, on top of normal online passwords etc. All for a few grand in liquid savings when my other much larger accounts are perfectly secure with just normal login. Not worth the hassle and unnecessary

   Coventry BS refused to release my late father's money for months after probate, causing needless distress to my mum. First reason given was we'd filled out the wrong forms (although they sent us the forms), then that identification was out of date (it was supplied immediately, but they didn't process it for months). Other banks and building societies released funds within 6 weeks of probate, Coventry took 16 weeks. Don't use Coventry BS if it's possible you might die at some point in your life.

   Absolutely rubbish company... policies from the dark ages... Tried transferring an ISA... twice they sent out the wrong forms so we lost the advertised rate... stupidly tried again a year later... this time received the correct forms but had three differing sets of instructions by telephone staff... even though we told them the post was dreadfull could only set up online banking by receiving a password by post.... that letter took 10 days to reach us by which time the password had expired...WHO USES SNAIL MAIL in this day and age... does anyone rely on the Post Office! ..Yep Coventry BS...Hopeless staff who do not seem to understand the companies own procedures. Wasted my time and money... such a frustrating experience. So will be moving my money out.. to an upto date institution... One that can send me documents and instructions by email text... not post. One that Uses one time pass codes ... not this shower.

   I’ve been with CBS for about 25 years… overall my service has been exceptional… and better than any other banks I’ve used. I feel the other reviews on here are somewhat misguided. I do agree that their most recent CEO has made customer service worse, they used to be much better than they are now. (One family has written about 4 reviews on the same topic. That seems to be a sad story, but not sure why the family didn’t just refer CBS to the regulator or Ombudsman for investigation. I have an elderly disabled parent, and our experience is very different, not trying to belittle what must have been very difficult for them - I genuinely don’t understand what happened and hard to understand it from a limited review).

   AVOID AVOID AVOID. Coventry building society killed an OAP by using a forged mortgage to steal his home. The court case caused him to stop eating and taking his medication. He died a scared old man. Coventry building society does it really take 10 years to show him the unsigned mortgage he never signed. AVOID AVOID AVOID

   This fraudulent and unprofessional bank paid their own agent a commission to process a corrupt mortgage so that they could attempt to repossess their home!! There are no signatures on the mortgage application form and no due diligence was carried out. My grandfather died prematurely due to the stress and heartbreak these cowboys inflicted after trying to steal the home that they have loved for 40 years!! Bunch of crooks!! Avoid avoid avoid at all costs More than happy to answer any questions directly if anyone would like to discuss in more detail, they should be closed down with immediate effect

   Coventry Building Society are a bunch of crooks, I am aware of how they (and their representatives) faked a signature on a mortgage contract that ended up with Mr. and Mrs. Mason being hounded out of their house, which contributed to the death due to stress of an OAP , aided and abetted by their attack dog QC.. Absolutely disgusting behaviour. The CEO should hang his head in shame and be strung up. I shall certainly be going elsewhere for my mortgage. You have been warned. AVOID.

   Poor customer service. I was kept waiting in this branch for nearly an hour. AVOID AVOID AVOID. Especially hearing how their actions resulted in the death of an OAP. They used a fake mortgage to steal the OAPs home. The court case caused him to stop eating and taking his medication. He died a scared old man. Coventry building society does it really take 10 years to show him the mortgage he never signed?
