   We booked a table for 4. We we were warned a large group would be in before us, but we would be seated away from this group. We offered to pre order, but this was declined. On arrival we were seated next to the large group. Including the large group no more than 1/3rd of the resturant was occupied. We ordered all 3 courses before the large group arrived, from the festive menu. After the large group arrived we asked to move as the group was so loud. We moved ourselves. We asked 3 times for more water, we had to ask more than once for our desserts. They offered individual bills then couldn't manage it. The food was OK, nothing special. Certainly not value for particularly compared to the non festive menu. Dreadful service today, usually so much better. It took over 2 hrs from arriving until bill arrived.

   Oliwia was fantastic! So friendly, attentive and helpful. She was patient as we decided and checked on us several times. My husband and I both ordered filets. They were delicious, however mine was one notch above the temp I requested. But I didn’t say anything as the cut was a good quality so it was enjoyable. The chips and sides we ordered were also delicious. The Diane and Peppercorn sauces didn’t taste very different (they may use the same base for both) but they have several sauces to choose from which is nice. You can tell this place specializes in burgers and steaks so it’s a good go to if you’re in the mood for either. The waitstaff goes above and beyond to make you feel looked after (with several people checking in with us throughout our meal). Ask for Oliwia if you stop by!

   Really great place! We were a bit nervous because it was empty when we arrived but it was an excellent experience. The food is well worth the price and the menu has great options (including loads of gluten free options). Our server, Alex, was excellent, friendly and gave really great advice about the menu. And the cocktails were amazing! Highly recommend.

   3 nights here for food. Sunday 12th March. Had to eat earlier than wanted due to staff training. However food and service excellent. Now Monday table booked for 8pm. Arrived shown to seat. Server took order for food and drinks. Asked if we would like water said yes. Night before came straight back with water and popcorn. Not tonight starters Arrive 20 minutes later no sign of original server or drinks and popcorn had to ask another server if I could have some water because chilli on starter was hot. Finally original server turned up with drinks. Food was piling up on the pass even the chefs were looking for servers to take food to tables. Food was excellent as expected but service was below standard. Tuesday night table booked for 8pm. Arrived and shown to table. Within minutes bottle of water and popcorn delivered to table and order taken. Everything was perfect, great food and service I expect at Bar + Block. And I've been to quite a few around the country.

   **** FALSE Advertising **** You have to pay at LEAST an extra £6 to get this salad with steak, as per the picture advertisement. Booked this meal deal via a stay over at Premier Inn next door. How is it possible to have a picture advertising a meal for a certain price..... then in the small print change it???? Please take a look at the menu. Before purchasing. All starters - (no extra cost). Mains - (*** most on the menu, required extra payment***). Pudding - (no extra cost). Service was a zero from start to finish. Didn't take our order, waited 15 mins to be served. Didn't give us water, every other table was given water on their tables. Our steak had to be sent back... It wasn't ever brought to the table with a salad! Food was a total waste of time, everything was either cold or cooked wrong. I have no idea why / how so many mistakes can be made in the space of an hour.

   Service was appalling. Food was from passable to disgusting. At one point a member of our party had to get up and find a member of staff to request missing cutlery. Any time we needed to be attended to, the staff were non-apparent. To say service was slow would be an understatement. The one child in our group was served last. Pretty poor show. The food was presented in separate containers meaning we had to tip it onto our plates to eat comfortably. Who has salad from a cone with steak?? One of the ordered sauces was missing. We were interrogated as to whether we'd ever ordered it when we requested it. To top everything, the churros ordered tasted as though they'd been fried in the same oil as onion rings, and this is NOT one of those unusual but interesting flavour pairings, it's just lazy and quite disgusting. I would definitely NOT recommend the place, and the fact that the prices are similar to Miller and Carter but with about as much finesse as Harvester or Brewer's Fayre is an absolute cheek. The portions are also very small compared to Miller and Carter. The only actual member of staff who seemed to understand the concept of customer service was the front of house person with interesting ink, the rest really ought to consider a different line of work.

   Atmospheric and a pleasant distraction from your recent break up. The salmon portions are generous and the ribeye tastes decent. The brocoli is completely unseasoned but you can say the same about British food in general. The staff is professional. Non-beef options are available.

   The food here was surprisingly good- I was surprised as it’s attached to a premier inn, 12oz Rump was lovely- cooked how I like it, the sauce delightful and crispy chips. 4 stars just because it was super hard to find- and wasn’t that busy so the atmosphere could have been a little better. lol
