Lovely dog friendly hotel. Room was large, clean and fresh. The wife loved the bath towels. Breakfast was fresh and cooked to order with good quality food. Buffet breakfast was well laid out with good choice. If it hadn't been for work commitments we would have stayed longer

The Wisteria is a lovely hotel in the heart of Oakham, with a convenient location if visiting the town for business or pleasure. We were a group of 14 people and the communication with Amanda was flawless from the beginning, great organisation and smooth check-in. The rooms are nicely decorated, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful. Very attentive staff. Highly recommended if visiting Oakham!

We enjoyed two nights in the Hambleton Studio Suite, one with breakfast only, and the second including the dinner package as well. The room was a relaxing place to spend time with all the facilities expected, although as a suite maybe a coffee machine would be nicer than instant sachets. The bed was brand new, now a super king, so space was not an issue for stretching out. The décor throughout the hotel was lovely, especially if you like bird prints. Breakfast was plentiful, and the cooked food was local, fresh and tasty. We also ate in the restaurant one evening and found the food was really good, and the service excellent. We will certainly consider staying here again.

The hotel is housed a number of old properties dating back to 1600 which only adds to its character and charm. For this reason there are a number of quirky area's and I particularly liked the bar area which had been taken back to the original beams. There was also a nice sitting area for coffee or reading. Service was great, rooms comfortable as well as being a decent size. The weather had just turned to Autumn when we arrived but you couldn't tell from the room, it was so warm. Restaurant served delicious food, though portion wise a little too large for me. My partner is gluten free and its always a relief when the restaurant staff understand this and can immediately answer questions about the food, five stars for this!! A short walk from the hotel is the castle, built by William the Conqueror which is free (closed Sundays) and a number of really nice independent stores. Before I leave I'll be buying cheese and coffee as well as enjoying coffee in one of the nice coffee houses. I think given what we paid for our stay, the hotel offers excellent value.

We had a 2 night break at this gem of a place. The room was very clean and really well presented. The staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a great break. It's perfectly placed to explore Rutland water and lots of other nearby attractions. The food was always excellent and the lunches were superb value for money. We will definitely be returning and look forward to it.

My friend surprised me with a xmas gift of Afternoon Tea at Hotel Wisteria and it was such a lovely afternoon x We had such a warm welcome and the staff were very attentive all afternoon, James in particular gave us such excellent customer service. The afternoon tea was presented beautifully and the choice if vegetarian sandwiches was excellent. They refreshed our tea several times. The snug was tastefully decorated. Well worth a visit.

We went for Sunday Lunch and it was excellent, one of the best we have had. The food was fresh and nicely presented. The staff were excellent and very friendly and helpful. Will definitely be going back, and would highly recommend.

Room was large, comfortable and quiet, although the cleaner had left some small cleaning products in the room. Service at check-in and breakfast was excellent. Would definitely revisit if I'm in Oakham again.

Love the restaurant, flooring, lighting, and breakfast. Ate out for other meals so can't comment. Bedroom wonderfully tidy and clean. Bathroom has excellent shower heads, and, safe 'grippers' to allow safe entry and exit. Wife and I agree, best of all is the most friendly, helpful and professional staff we've had the pleasure of meeting in any hotel we've stayed in. One 'iffy' point is tight parking at the hotel, but it is free and there are various carparks close by. Nearly forgot to mention the 'guide' to the hotel, it is detailed but very helpful, bring with you or make relevant notes.

We had a meal at the Wisteria Hotel and it was delicious. The staff were very friendly, but also didn't fuss or interrupt you too frequently, just the right level of service. The food was really good - as a veggie it was nice to have something a bit different on the menu with the kohl rabi fondant, really good! The atmosphere was good for a conversation too, definitely a slightly older crowd although it was a Monday night, but meant you could hear yourself talk and the music wasn't too loud (ha - I'm getting old!) Definitely we'll be back again. Thank you to the team it was a really great evening.
