Booked for a Sunday morning at 9am as my dog is very dog reactive and pressumed that would be their first appoitnment of the day and she wouldnt then be around many other dogs. I also explained how reactive/hard work she is being a large breed etc and I was reassured by the lady booking the appointment that she wouldnt come into contact with any other dogs. Turn up on said day and time to find out they had a power cut and couldnt see her and they would call to re book. No issue here, these things happen. Get a phone call a few days later and get re booked in for the following sunday at 10am. Here is where the 1 star comes from... I turn up to the rebooked appointment to see two little dogs on the floor in the groom room. Before we enter I explain how reactive my dog is and I was told she wouldnt come into contact with any other dog. The lady replied in a rude tone saying ''If shes that reactive you should of booked her in for a day we are quieter'' and I was also told by her ''We cant book out the whole day just for your dog''. I explained that I was quiet aware of this, but I also pressumed they would have kennels for dogs to go in once they are done/waiting to prevent a dog fight breaking out, instead of just hanging around in the same room.. Seems like common sense to have kennels, for their own safety?? Any how, the lady proceeds to reassure me how she wont get close enough to the little dogs to hurt them etc, so I reluctantly walked in... Cue my dog starting to go mental when she sees them. I pull her to the side behind the counter so she cannot see the dogs inside and she calms down a little, to then be told by the worker checking us in ''If she was that reactive she would be trying to go for them by now''... As if I dont know my own dog... Im told there was no previous notes on her file (From 2022) saying shes reactive, my name was put as '0' and they had no address for me.. Ive used their service once before, so my details should have been on file. Im told this groom will take 1 hour, and thats all, no other information. I said I would go costa and wait. I go back into Pets At Home aroind 10:50ish (50 minutes later) and walk around awaiting a phone call to let me know shes ready, but also trying to stay out of view of my dog, as I know she would start playing up if she seen me. 11:30 comes and I still havent had a phone call (I got a phone call when I took her previously in 2022, to let me know she was ready, so I pressumed I would be getting one this time). I put my thumbs up outside the door to indicate if shes done or not at 11:30, which she was. I go to pay and im told I have incured a £5 late collection fee as shes was ready at 11am. Of course I told them I wouldnt be paying this as I was waiting for a phone call and was pressuming they were running behind etc. I was told I had signed a contract and that the £5 needed to be paid, to which I refused again. I told them Id been in Pets At Home for the past 40 minutes waiting for said phone call. The lady then phoned for her manager, who confirmed via CCTV that I had been in the shop for the past 40 minutes just wondering around, and she waived that fee. TLDR - Cusomter service was terrible, rude, and very 'know it all' (Even my own dog apprently) and communication was very poor.

Was very happy with the cut, they did a fantastic job, ears cleaned and nails cut but I don't believe that they bathed our dog as she still smellt very doggy and not nice and fresh and also still had crust by her tear ducts which I'm sure would have been cleaned if she was bathed. Will be asking the question of them in a bit.

The grooming centre at Pets at Home in Weston-super-Mare deliberately conned me. I had an appointment booked for a nail clipping at Companion Care vets inside Pets at Home which was covered by the vaccination policy and when I walked in I saw the Grooming Centre immediately on the left. I went in assuming that was where I should go and explained that I had booked an appointment at 10.15 for my dog and she took him away and clipped his nails. When she had finished she charged me £10 and I showed her my card that covered nail clippings for free. She told me that they were a separate company and the free card did not apply that was for the vets not them. I asked why she had not said anything before when she did not have the appointment registered and was told they were a walk in centre and did not do appointments. So knowing I had an appointment that was clearly not with them, she deliberately did not tell me that and clipped his nails anyway in order to charge me. She said she would speak to her manager and apparently he said charge me anyway. This was a deliberate fraudulent act condoned by the manager
