Fox & Anchor calls itself a boutique hotel, but it’s really just rooms above a pub. We had to walk through crowds of smokers and drinkers every time we entered, and a beer bottle truck woke us up around 1 a.m. every night. The staircase smelled of smoke, Nespresso capsules weren’t replenished, and staff were just pub bartenders. They also never replied to our early check-in request. Not awful, but nowhere near what it advertises

I can’t say enough good things about the Fox & Anchor. The warm, friendly staff welcomed us to our home for 4 nights. We were a bit early so they held our luggage for us to explore London for the afternoon. There were multiple tube stops that were very close, including the Elizabeth Line which made our airport transfer extremely easy and just a short walk to the pub. Our accommodations were excellent. Comfy bed, nice amenities, and the heated bathroom floor was fab. Then the food. Oh the food. Very simply, delicious, well thought out, and it made me happy. I will have a hard time staying elsewhere knowing the ambience and culture of the Fox & Anchor. Coming back to a lively pub at night was a little bit of magic. But I never heard a peep in our room which was on the first floor. I’ll make this easy, Stay here. Don’t hesitate, indulge in a lovely pub stay in London. (Don’t forget to stay for Sunday roast )

100 yards from the Elizabeth Line entrance to Faringdon Station. Classic old London pub. Great (size and quality) meals. Enthusiastic (in London!) staff. Rooms above the pub are worth the climb. You need to navigate the booking software with patience.

Overall a great place to stay with lovely, nicely decorated rooms. If not for the noise. Located in our room were all the technical connections, causing a underlying sound bed that would make it very hard to sleep and get a rest. Once it would stop all would be absolutely perfect.

The room was very spacious with a separate bathroom with a claw-foot tub and shower. Being on the second floor, the room was very quiet and had all the amenities needed for a short stay - complimentary tea & coffee, wardrobe with terrycloth robes, iron, two seating areas, and climate control. The room and the pub felt very homey andd in a great location. I will book again when visiting London!

Love this place. I was here 10 years ago and nothing has changed. Good beer, good service. Only ate a burger and fries but it was great. Book a table if you want to sit between 5-8 pm.

It's been some years since I've been here and it was a pleasure to revisit this Farringdon gem. Lovely and cosy and we thoroughly enjoyed our bangers and mash.

Lovely tiny little place near Smithfield Market, great ale, great atmosphere. I could spend a long time here. And, at a push, can just get a wheelchair into the back room! (The place is too small for disabled toilet though so don't have to much if you're on wheels...! )

Only early house left in London. Nice bar but as all bars now it only serves poncy beer. Can't get a normal foster/carlsberg/heineken. 15 quid for a breakfast. Sent me sausages back 2 times to be cooked more. The rest of the breakfast was good. We'll presented and clean. Bar staff good
