Great Service. Richard the engineer turned up promptly and completed the job of refitting the Shower in a couple of hours. Brought in all of the equipment and glass doors and coverings required, and removed what needed to be removed from the premises.
My wife and I were very pleased with the service we received from the Farthings engineer, Paul Farthing, he arrived within 24 hours of us contacting Farthings and, after removing a spider colony, managed to relite our antique gas boiler without any fuss. He was quick, professional and gave us some helpful tips on maintaining the boiler. We would definitely recommend Farthings and will remember them when we come to getting a new boiler!
Engineer turned up at the appointed time for our boiler service, a chatty, friendly and capable guy who swiftly got on with his job. He didn't stint on the time taken and we had a full set of readings telling us that the boiler was safe and in good condition. A good service from them and trustworthy as far as I'm concerned.
Excellent Plumbing and heating firm had a new boiler and several radiators fitted nearly 10 years ago and serviced yearly since then. But do wish they would respond to after hours messages had two attempts to request a quote for shower replacement but no response shame otherwise rate excellent.
I am going to give them 5 stars, there were a couple of minor niggles but they were dealt with quickly. We were thinking about getting one bathroom completely replaced and some minor work in the other and so got some quotes from different firms. Daryl came around and had a look, it was a no pressure visit. When we got the quote it was itemised. This allowed us to visit the showroom twice, plus the tile showroom in Leicester and speak with Daryl and Charlie to get what we wanted at a good price. This took several weeks but we were again not put under any pressure. The job was booked in for seven days, Jason turned up on time everyday and crucially had the help of Tristrum who was just finishing his apprenticeship. Both are lovely guys who I had no worries about leaving in my house. Because there were two of them it was finished in five days. There were two small niggles a missing part on a cupboard and one thing was loose. I went into see Charlie who I presume had to order the part and Jason came around four days later to do the work. Regarding the loose part he explained the two options carefully which allowed me to make the best choice for us. The work was completed and we are very happy with it. The electrician Mitch who is a contractor was also very good he had to do some work to bring my old electrics up to date (no added charge) and was very good at explaining what it meant. There was also Mark who came to take the rubbish away again a lovely man. In fact everyone was nice including the two ladies on reception whose names I can not recall (sorry) I will consider using them again once I have saved up for my next big project. I would happily recommend them to anyone.
Had a new kitchen sink and tap a few months ago now and I'm just getting over the experience which was shambolic to say the least. The boss came out initially to measure up but when the poor plumber came to fit it, we discovered that all the measurements were wrong. He'd already taken out my old sink etc, so was left without one for a week. After waiting for replacement sink to come, we found that tap wouldn't fit! Eventually after much communicating on my part (had to chase them up every time!)and some temporary taps the job was completed. In all that time neither the boss or his daughter apologised or made any attempt to offer helpful solutions during the ordeal. I would never recommend Farthings to anyone, and have heard that Mr farthing is still making similar mistakes with other customers. The plumber James however was excellent, polite, courteous, a good communicater and did a neat and tidy job.
Having had a safety concern with our gas hob - we needed to have a gas hob that would cut off the gas if the flame went out. Within a week of getting a quotation from Farthings and a replacement safety hob and installed by Ryan. I was completely satisfied with the quality and service given to us. This is a very good local company. They were able to come to service our boiler and make the necessary repairs within a short time frame. We dont have Boiler Breakdown Insurance. We have decided to use Farthings when we need them.
Our waste pipe under the sink was leaking. I tried to fix and managed to dismantle a fair few more connections. Although I rang in the morning and they couldn't guarantee to send someone that day, a plumber did ring before 12 the same day and he managed to fix everything I had taken apart. We use Farthings for all our plumbing and heating jobs. The firm is very professional: engineers are on time; jobs fixed quickly; prices very reasonable.
