I attended the Christmas wreath-making class with a friend and, up until a certain point, we were having a really lovely time. There were around a dozen people, festive music playing, mulled wine, and the overall atmosphere felt warm and enjoyable. Unfortunately, the experience took a turn when I asked Gemma for help attaching pine cones to my wreath. I politely asked whether I should cut the wire first or use a fresh piece, as I’d never made a wreath before. I was met with the response: “If you had listened then you would know. The key is to listen.” The comment felt unnecessarily rude and dismissive, and I was left feeling uncomfortable and spoken to like a child. As someone who paid £40 upfront for a beginner-friendly class, I didn’t feel it was unreasonable to ask for clarification. After that interaction, I no longer felt comfortable asking for help, which really took the joy out of the rest of the session. It was a shame, as we had genuinely been enjoying ourselves beforehand and had even planned to return in the future. Sadly, the tone of that exchange left a sour taste and has put us off attending again. A little more patience and kindness would have made a big difference.

Have done various workshops in the last couple of years including clay jewellery making, macrame, mosaics and most recently wreath making. The instructors are all really friendly and helpful and I look forward to doing more workshops with them in the future!

My friend and I did rug tufting with Gemma. Super easy to do, lots of yarn to choose from and honestly the most fun I have ever had as a creative person who loves art. Gemma is super attentive and friendly. And Gwen her dog is the cutest, friendliest companion. Truly a warming and welcoming place to get creative. Can’t wait to go back and try something else.

Gemma came to us at home to do a Soap Making Workshop and to say we enjoyed it would be an understatement. It was such a fun activity and the time flew by as we crafted out own personal bars in various shapes, colours and scents. Gemma was a delight to spend time with as she led the lesson and we were overwhelmed by the variety and choices she provided us with. We couldn’t recommend it enough.

Myself and my 13 year old daughter really enjoyed the parent & child Lino-printing workshop with Bethan. So impressed that we learnt and created so much in just 3 hours. Bethan was so patient and it was really lovely and relaxed. I love nothing more than spending crafting time in Lark’s design workspace and I’m really inspired to continue this beautiful craft.

I did the beginners sewing workshop this week, where we made a patchwork pillow. Gemma, who ran the workshop, was really great and made the whole process very easy to understand. I had a really good time, and I'm really happy with the pillow! I've signed up for more crafting classes, and I'm really looking forward to going back!

Absolutely brilliant workshops. The studio is spacious, cosy and great for everyone. Gemma is so welcoming and makes you feel at ease and is patient and friendly. I have disabilities and find going out very stressful but these workshops have been very good for me and given me a sense of purpose and pride in learning new crafts and skills. I cannot recommend Lark enough.

Had the best time making my first pair of espadrilles. Gemma who taught us made the experience very easy and enjoyable. I can't wait to come back and do another course.

Excellent party for our ten year old and her friends, who chose the soap making option. I had no idea what this would involve, but it was fabulous, and they were all engrossed in making different colours and shapes. Gemma was wonderful and very patient with them all, and looked after all the mess. The soaps are gorgeous and smell lovely too! I just need to come and do a version for grown ups. Highly recommended.
