   We’ve visited the Cotswolds on several occasions, usually staying in Bourton on the Water. For this trip, we wanted to step back from the tourist-centric town, while still be conveniently located to the sites we wanted to see. Ilmington and Sansome House were the perfect combination. We arrived to find freshly baked bread with homemade jam, milk, wine, fresh flowers and other essentials to start our holiday. Felicity gave us some must see sights and the name of local grocery and butcher options, which were spot on. She and Tony are fantastic hosts. The cottage is a good blend of character and convenience. It’s very well equipped, especially the kitchen. We cooked most of our evening meals in the cottage and ate out for lunch. The beds, duvets, towels, etc. are of the highest quality. There’s a lovely garden outside the kitchen. We set aside a couple of days per week for relaxing in the cottage and enjoying a fire in the sitting room. The TV has a large amount of channels and the WiFi is fast and consistent. There’s two pubs in town a few minutes walk from the cottage, offering tasty meals and drinks. The Community Shop has an amazing array of items and a small cafe. You can’t go wrong staying at Sansome House !
