Easy parking here and we walked a few miles up and back along a tarmac path. Not the most interesting walk ever, but easy in any weather and I think you can branch off the path to other areas which we didn’t do. Couple of dog poo bins, and a very old toilet facility near here where we parked for free. No cafe or other facilities so ‘country park’ feels like a big of a stretch. It’s a good, long, fairly flat, easy walk.

A good place for easy walking as the main trail is a wide tarmac path suited to cycling, walking, running and pushing prams etc. you can head into the woodlands and up the steep hillside in many places and also drop down to the river on smaller trails. Plenty of people visit so it's rare to get the place to yourself, but you can always find quiet spots. A good way to walk from Blackwood to Crosskeys.

Cracking circular walk around the river. Car park up to 9 mile point and return on other side. Dog friendly, mixture of paths and trails, place to enter water. Benches dotted around, one small incline, more walks to do.

A peaceful walk, with plenty of paths including the river walk. There is also the Rhymney walk which provides spectacular views and wildlife. The Cycling route 47 will take you through Willie into Measycummer and over the Viaduct to Penalta Park and over to Taff Bargoed lakes. There is a lot of history including the Babell church, farm and bridge across the river. Well worth a visit.

What an absolutely beautiful place to walk. We parked for free just outside the park and followed the map. There was a very long climb upto the farm but great views and picnic tables await. The dog thoroughly enjoyed the river
